When did I say it was a particularly good division?

You think Ward and Dirrell, 2 prospects would look this good in the era of James Toney, Nigel Benn, Steve Collins, Eubanks, Gerald Mclellan, Roy Jones Jr?

Mikkel Kessler was held as the gold standard in the Super Six tournament. He does nothing exceptional well, has poor head movement, basic footwork, and easily predicatable fighting style. That says all you need to know about the division prior to this tournament.

And now it's one of the strongest in boxing. Because of the super 6 perhaps?

Umm Ward used 2 styles on the night. One was that of a boxer for the first 4 rounds, where he consistently beat Kessler from the outside, and the other was a swarmer where he consistently roughed Kessler up on the inside.

Clearly in this fight, styles didnt matter. Ward being all around superior did.

Now lets look at Carl Froch vs Boxers. He beat Pascal and Taylor. But in both fights he lost the first half of the fight. Against Taylor he would have lost the entire fight if the fight was 11 rounds.

Now Pascal and Taylor both have poor stamina. Ward does not. Ward fights at a untempered tempo for all 12 rounds.

Lets look at his fight with Dirrell. If you dont believe Dirrell won, ok. But Dirrell someone who never went 12 rounds before, made Froch look foolish, scored the more telling and cleaner punches, and if there was a rematch most would pick Dirrell to win a decision.

Now consider that Andre Ward is far more polished a fighter then Dirrell. Isnt prone to mental lapses, and fights at a steady active pass for an entire fight.

Thats a recipe for a Wide Froch loss.

No one ever said Kessler was exceptional in any area , he was considered good enough at everything to be a top fighter

but the whole point of the super 6 was to find , the man after Joe c quit.

Ward a protected fighter who uses dirty tricks

Froch a beast who'll keep after you and keep hurting you for 12 rounds

thats a recipe for a ****ed up Ward

we can sit and talk **** all day long, at the end of the day, ward fought at home the whole tournament, dirrell dropped out, taylor dropped out. That there is your 3 great american smw's. Fighting in jokeland with your own ref, fans, judges and hbo keeping you propped up is a whole different story to every other fighter in the tournament.

If Ward beats Froch, Bute will essentially be the only fighter left to challenge Ward's status as the best in the division.

Froch couldnt touch Dirrell. He wont touch Ward unless Ward decides he wants to emasculate Froch like he did Kessler

And the only fighter to receive an outright gift was Carl Froch. Against a guy who never fought 12 rounds before.

Who are S6 fighters that Bute can`t be compared?Green, Direll, Taylor, Abraham? Since when a belt is nothing and being among some fighters and even losing make you more valuable than a four years long undefeated champion with over 80% KOs?

Why to take a loser? What do you win?At least Pavlik will have two win a in row.

    1) Ward entered the tournament. He took on Kessler which was a major step up and beat him hands down. It's more than what Bute has done by a million miles

    2) Bute doesnt deserve it as he hasnt beaten anyone of note. Magee, Mendy, Brinkley. These names mean nothing when your competitors are fighting the best in the world

    3) If bute doesnt deserve it ,who does? Kessler without a shadow of a doubt. He had to give up the WBC due to injury. Before this, he was on his way to claiming a semi final spot. He has beaten better fighters and is more proven at a higher level. He gets the nod for me.
