I watched the fight and although i didn't score it, my initial thought as soon as the final bell
rang was that Cotto had done enough in the last two round to win it, just.

A close, and lets not forget entertaining fight, but certainly not a robbery by any stretch of the imagination.

WTF? 7 points= rounds won right? Your score card 7 rounds to 6? If the round is even, I assume you ment 7-4 and 1 even. And 10-9, it would be 7-5.

And why would anyone in the World score the first round even with a Knock down scored for Cotto?

    Lack of experience?

He did the same thing here as he did against Margarito. Clottey doesn't have a lack of experience, he has a lack of a killer instinct and a lack of pure boxing wherewithall to know when to go in there and win the final two rounds in a CLOSE CLOSE fight. Simply put, Clottey cost himself this fight.

A great fight (I had it 7-5 Cotto with a point) but one where Joshua can only look at himself in the mirror for blame.

Neither did Margarito against Clottey. Margarito looked even more despondent at the end of the fight.

Point is Clottey has a habit of spoiling people and he spoiled this one against Miguel. In the end all Clottey is IS a spoiler, a guy capable of making people look bad and making things close but not doing enough to win a fight.

Cotto showed tremendous grit in this fight. Clottey lost it for himself with his intense inactivity over long stretches.

he was injurred in the margarito fight.... dont know why you would fight a B- caliber fight vs An A level fight...

he had enough energy to shut the fight out and just sell out a little extra... he even said it himself he wanted to remain calm and set up the proper punches.... instead he should have just lead with the jab and set **** up like he was doing early...

nothing to do with killer instinct... he showed that several times in the fight

    :good

i had clottey winning it. i think he was the more consistent fighter over 12 rounds but cotto had his moments. especially in the 6th.

the crowd and the commentators though were just pure pro-cotto. you can see it after the fight, clottey felt he won. body language of cotto was a barely there celebration.

even he thinks he lost it imo. i hope a rematch happens though. even without the cut though, i think cotto would still fight the same way. backing up most of the time imo against clottey.

Yeah a bruised knuckle. With the prospect of upsetting Margarito, a bruised knuckle stopped him.

And it has a lot to do with killer instinct, when you chase a one eyed Cotto around and don't do anything, you have something missing. If it's not killer instinct, it's boxing intelligence.

I agree that Clottey should get good fights in the future. He has demonstrated he is a very good fighter and doesn't deserve to be neglected.

Dude, he was fighting with one eye that could have been stopped at any moment....are you the only one who missed that?

Also, Cotto's confidence is where it needs to be after this fight.....he is feeling pretty good right now and looking forward a big name fight!!!!
