Cotto had that fight won after the 4th round ... and from the 4th -7th Judah was taking a severe beat down and was in survival mode.

The fight shouldve been stopped anytime from the 7th-11th ...

Judah doesn't really have much of a jab and couldn't manage to find Cotto with his. His jab didn't have much power on it and he seemed scared to throw the left hand.

His foot movement was suspect and his head movement was non existant after the 4th round.

Cotto was cut off of a punch ...

I also noticed that whenever Cotto got stunned, he fought back even harder and discouraged Zab whenever Zab connected with his power punch.

Re-visiting that fight what do you guys think?

I also noticed that Cotto's defense is very suspect and that he leaves himself open for certain punches ...

I agree. It was just the fact that Judah is always a one punch threat. Cotto has a hell of chin. He may get caught but fights harder and Judah WOKE him up that night.

What really shocked me was Judah's lack of a jab ... and he hesitated to let his hands go after the 4th round ... he would flick the jab out of there but nothing that would land and it didn't have much mustard on it.

Agreed. The fight was over after the 4th. Cotto has a leaky defense, but clearly when physically superior to his opponents, its hard for the other guy to exploit it. AFter this fight I might have felt Margarito stood a chance, but Cotto has improved since then and should shore up all his weakness against a limited fighter like Margo.

After watching this fight I started to thinking that Margarito has no chance ... It made me see that Cotto really commits to certain punches and when he lands - the effect that it has is brutal. He has mean intent on most of the punches he lands ... while Margarito is just throwing at the same speed and velocity.

Add to that Margarito moves in straight lines ... w/ no head or shoulder movement ... he's going to be there for Cotto to move ... and use his superior footspeed to hit and get out the way.

Cotto hasn't shown me anything different since this fight ... (not a bad thing)

    Thats not true ...

Plus Margarito has no jab and he doesn't have much power behind his punches ... he wears opponents down with his pressure and workrate.

Margarito is a good fighter. But his game is predictable, he does nothing that is going to surprise Cotto. I was watching the Cintron(who cant fight on the inside for **** and took a million margarito power shots) fight and he beat the snot out of Cintron b/c he is a tall statue fighter. Margarito could try to bully Cotto with wide hooks to the body and uppercuts to the middle but that will get old quick. And it is not like Cotto is just going to fall over from it. If Cintron can take all those clean margo shots, Cotto wont eat half as many and he will eat them with ease. Margarito is inconsistent with his hand speed. He can throw a fast combo like once or twice a round.

    Agreed

Add to that you can see Margarito's right uppercut from a mile away ... at times he gets too trigger happy and telegraphs his punches.

Why are people forgetting that Cotto is alot faster than Margarito ... and if it turns into a jabbing match early on - we all know who's going to win that.

After watching this ... it also showed me how much ease PBF would dismantle Cotto ...

Jabs to the pit of the stomach ... how PBF neutralizes and takes away a fighters best weapon.

The movements, the defense, and the pot shots, will frustrate fighters ...
