I brought a TON of people over to watch these two fight, I hyped this as much as I could, and a they all bought in. They watched the presser, they watched the promos, they all got as excited as humanly possible. Unfortunately I should have realized what I thought 2 years ago. Haye has, is, and always will be a hype job, and wlad is everything wrong with heavyweight boxing: BORING. Haye fought like a coward, but wlad is and always will be the worst heavyweight in history to attract a crowd on excitement. This was so disappointing. I thought (like many did) that this fight would finally breathe some light into the heavyweight div, but as many of the people said afterwards, it lost them forever as fans of a division that is cancered by overweight slobs, and boring horribly boring ass fighters. I will never watch a wlad fight again, I wont ever bother even talking about the heavies to my friends...It is a complete and utter waste of time. These two losers are the complete example of everything wrong with the div. The harsh reality is although we all are big fans of the sport of boxing, if it were not for the 140-154 weight class, there would be absolutely NO LIMELIGHT on the sport right now in the casual publics eye. I know many of you will say "who cares, **** the casual fans", but if you want this sport to progress, you need to understand that the reason so many sports thrive and rise to the top is because of the casuals. I am so utterly disappointed and let down by how horrid that fight was.... **** wlad **** haye **** the worst div in boxing that could help its sport so much.
Why would you hype this fight up in the first place? Everyone knew it was going to be Wlad jabbing his way to victory. I mean have you not seen these guys fight before? Theres nothing really exciting about them.
Wrong fight to introduce friends to boxing. There was a lot of hype, which it could not have possibly lived up to, and most people knew Haye had little chance. You should have waited for Cotto-Margarito II
Pac's and Floyd's ud wins over shot to **** Mosley weren't any better for 'casual fans'. And let's not forget Khan's, Alexander's and Bradley's recent stinkers.
Anyone who knows boxing and is not biased should have known that Vlad/Haye fight would be a mismatch. I wanted to see Vitali fight Haye because Vitali would have made it an exciting knockout fight!!!!!!! Vitali is the best heavyweight in the world today and Vlad is second...........talk of a Vitali/Haye fight in the future. I would love to see it!!!!!!!
I want to see Vitali-Haye as well, however, impossible if Haye retires like he says oct 13th, since Vitali is fighting in September. I see the TS's point, and I half feel that way too, but I'll keep watching hoping for someone more exciting to come along. Someday heavies will be back, everything has ups and downs.
Everyone knows what the Klits do, Haye was supposed to make the fight though. He talked all this **** about how boring the Klits are and about how he was going to change the world and all this wild ass ****. Which led me to believe he would fight like a ****ing wildman and either catch Wlad on his shaky chin and make it a fight or get brutally KOed trying. He did neither, threw no punches, and put on a better ****ing diving exhibition than Barcelona usually does. I had to redeem the sport of boxing by putting Corrales/Castillo I on for my guest. I don't blame people for hyping this fight, or trying to use it as a gateway fight for friends. I don't put any blame on Wlad either. It was up to Haye to make this fight, and he didn't cause he's a ***** made ******. **** the heavyweight division. It's been consistently **** for over a decade and even when it wasn't the lighter divisions were throwing more punches, exhibiting more skill, and putting on more exciting fights with far more regularity.
HW division NEEDS haye/vitali What a real fight that will be. Umm...yeah we arent kidding ourselves are we
What the heavyweight division needs is minimum punches thrown per round. If you don't throw X number of punches you don't get paid.
I actually didn't mind the fight. I had a hard time seeing where Wlad dominated, I did see him missing alot more than he usually does. I also seen Wlad get hit with the bigger shots throughout the fight as well. Was it a great performance by either man? Hell no. Though it takes two to tango, and neither man was willing to engage it seemed.
Boxing is great...as long as the participants weigh under 200 lbs. I've thought this for many, many years. I only follow the HW division because it's still technically part of the sport I love...but I honestly wish it weren't and would be thrilled if a hard limit of 200lbs was imposed. **** the "super heavy" freaks. 100-200, strawweight to (non-limitless, currently what we call cruiserweight) heavyweight. That's it. Oh, and same day weigh ins. And 15 rounds for championships.
I can see Haye fighting Adamek(after he loses to Vitali) or Arreola--bot are winnable fights for Haye, imo..
