I see a different Floyd. Before i saw this fight, i saw Floyd as virtually untouchable. His performances against Saul Alvarez and Robert Guerrero were masterful and i cant even recall a time where he was hit at all. Now i see that he is indeed human. Do you think Mayweather fought this way on purpose? Or has age caught up to him and pressure should be the fight style of choice for all of his future opponents?
It's Alvarez and ****ing Guerrero; that's why. Put Floyd against prime de la Hoya, Mosley, Margarito, Williams, and he'll look very average taking a loss. Resume should trump the eye test and Floyd does not have a resume that would even trump Manny Pacquiao's.
Mayweather is a master boxer counter puncher, if you box with him he would pick you apart with distance. If you bull rush him he doesn't know what to do but go into his turtle shell or shoulder roll on the rope. Why do you think health come first with PAC.
What i really noticed last night is two big things: When on the ropes floyd is usually able to roll a few punches off counter and move away. He was unable to do that last night and got hit on the ropes to the point he just abandoned the shoulder roll and counter and just held his gloves up and tried to hold. 2. Maidana had an excellent jab at times but seemed not to know when to use it. What he shouldve done which he did a couple times is use the jab when floyd took the fight to the center of the ring and just waited for an opening to pounce instead of throwing one or two and trying to charge in. had he done this floyd loses the fight. last night was a blue print on how to beat floyd and it nearly worked for a guy who isnt the most gifted of fighters. someone like a thurman or a pac would give floyd a serious beating and likely a loss.
i think ortiz would have knocked down floyd if the fight was not fixed. fmj has to sucker punch him even since he was hurting him. they made the drama just to set up the very questionable ko
