That Floyd would win a UD.

Before this fight I was convinced Manny would beat Floyd, even knock him out! But he couldn't even get close to Mosley to force an exchange and even when he did Mosley didn't take the opportunity to counterpunch, Floyd would.

    I'm thinking two things:

    1. Manny was always weary of Mosley's right hand and hence fought a cool calm and collected fight, if so, if he fights May, he knows May doesn't have that power and hence would more willing to make something happen.

    2. Manny wasn't 100%, he didn't look like his usual self, maybe all these wars have finally caught up to him?!

Please lets not make this a *****/******* war and discuss my two points or other points you may have. Thanks.

If he doesn't get Mayweather in the ring this year then he would be as well calling it a day. That's the only fight left out there for him.

I've always thought Mayweather would beat him anyway but that opinion was just made stronger last night, we seen in one of the later rounds in the Cotto fight (10th or 11th) that when Kneeguel went on his bike that Pacquiao found it frustrating trying to chase him, we when witnessed again last night that even an ageing Mosley who never had that much defensive qualities to begin with could not only frustrate Pac with movement and dictate the pace of the fight for large periods but it looked like he made his punching activity drop too.

What goes up must come down, but I dont think Manny is slowin down so much due to wear and tear. I've noticed since his fight with Hatton he starts abit slower and analyzes the situation in the first round, even doesnt mind losing it as long as he feels out the first round, eerily similar to Floyd. I think Manny is fighting as smart as he possibly can and thats great when its vs naturally bigger fighters, even tho they are washed up for the most part with the exception of Clottey, but thats a different subject. Just like Duran, Floyd, and now Manny are fighting smarter as they went up in weight facing bigger men slowing down the pace a notch is vital to not make as many mistakes or take unecessary risks. Slowing down the pace and then exploding or picking up the pace whenever he wants to just shows how much Manny is in control. It takes alot more effort for a smaller man mentally and physically to dominate let alone beat a bigger man. I think Manny is fighting smarter for the most part.

LOL!!!! Do folks really believe his legs were cramping in the fight. Then what was the deal with the fancy footwork in the middle rounds? Obviously Pac is trying to lure Floyd into a fight. He held back on Mosley all night and he made excuses to get everyone thinking he's wearing down as a fighter. Anyone who bought it got fooled. Lets see if Mayweather fell for it too. I doubt it, but you never know.

I wouldn't read too much into the Mosley fight. Just becuase Manny wasn't quite as entertaining last night doesn't mean he's declining. I think it's more a case of Pac/Roach being perhaps a bit over-cautious, possibly paranoid of Mosley's right hand and choosing to just win rounds as a posed to the usual relentlessness.

I'm still 50/50 on the Pac/May fight. Absolutely anything could happen.

He said in an interview that his legs was hurt from rounds 4-10. Leg cramps.
That's why he couldn't chase and cut off the ring properly.

Pac is slightly on the decline and Pac vs Money should happen asap.

Well Mayweather has all the tools to win, no one can fight off the backfoot better than he, Pac doesn't do well against this. Can definitely exploit this and, I believe, he can even exploit him on the inside, with his defensive -- timing, which would make for a more exciting fight. Pac definitely has the power to hurt him, but I doubt he would get hit with a punch that he didn't see like mosley.

That's not an interesting theory, that is the imagination of an fan who can't look at things objectively. In every fight where a fighter fights on the backfoot Pac struggles and doesn't like it and gets irritated.

this one's good. i always thought that pac is not a good actor, but after reading your post, damn! yeah, maybe its all an act to make people think he's already on a massive decline.

I have always favored Floyd stylistically, but I do wonder how Floyd would deal with manny's power. Plus, Floyd really only throws one or two punches at a time for the most part unless his opponent has nothing left. That can be a problem for him against a guy like Pac who immediately comes back with 5 or 6 of his own. Pac is very good at staying ahead in the punchcount and stealing rounds back. the round that he was "knocked down" against Mosley he came back and had one of his best rounds making it officially an even round (though it was clearly his). So, yeah Mayweather does have the toold to beat Manny, but manny may also have the tools, power, speed, momentum, will, to beat an inactive Mayweather.
