So Duran is not a ATG or in hall of fame because he lost some of his big fights, and some of his last figths in his career? so wake up! DLH is in hall of fame eve if u hate him.
hes a hof but he dosent rank that high in atg. he never stuck out above his competition. -barely beat an old whitaker -barley beat quartey -deserved to beat trinidad but ran in the biggest fight of his life in the championship rds -was clearly beaten by mosley in their first fight - should have won vs. mosley in the rematch but that was not the same mosley who came up from lightwieght - koed by hopkins - clearly beaten by mayweather - beaten decisively by pac-man he never dominated his competion except for maybe trinidad but again, he ran, giving away rds.
HOF but not ATG very overrated and a media darling. Fighting the best and not winning doesn't make you an ATG. And quitting on your stool against a man you dwarf in the ring proves it.
I didnt even read your logic as to why you feel Oscar isnt a hall of famer. You must have lost some dough betting on him this Saturday. THe man is a first ballot hall of famer. He is the one that has fought the best comp on a consistant bases than any other fighter in the last 15 years.
He is a hall of famer but never impressed me. Fought a lot of good competition but a lot of Tito leftovers as well. Tito and Mosley 2 fights could have gone his way but he got the HUGE sturm gift, and questionable wins over Pea and Ike , so that levels the playing field. He was a good fighter who was marketed really well.
Bunch of crap...Oscar did even MUCH than many who are already in the hall of fame...maybe not atg but certainly in the top 100all time
Hearns also beat Cueves,Benitez,Virgil Hill and Roberto Duran. WHen all those guys were champions.. That is a Hall of famer. Oscar does not compare to Hearns. The knock on Thomas Hearns is that he lost to fellow greats Hagler and Leonard, but those guys were top fighters of all time also. Delahoya was not a Thomas Hearns caliber. He does not have the wins against guys who were champions at the time. Oscar was very very very good. A great? Yeah he fought them all and skimmed the surface of beating them, but he didn't Hearns beat most greats he fought. He fought 6 all time and beat 4..
Problem with Oscar's list is that most of these guys were beaten up and stopped before they fought Oscar. He had the blueprint to beat them , but Hearns knocked out guys who had never even been hurt before. and outboxed guys who were never outboxed. That is the impressive thing. Oscar was very good and should be in the Hall of fame, but his safety first style not unlike Roy Jones Jr. hurts his legacy as it does Roys. Although Roy had better wins when he was young. Roy beat guys who were never beaten.. That is more impressive than Oscar.
