    Shannon Briggs
    Trevor Berbick

    Evander Holyfield
    Larry Holmes
    Ray Mercer
    Gerry Conney

Briggs, Cooney, Lewis and Rahman have the best chance, but I don't see any of them doing it. I especially cannot see the likes of Holmes, Holyfield, Terell and Spinks doing it

The better question is would they be capable of doing it, much less with the damage Dempsey caused

One striking aspect of this affair is how LITTLE damage Dempsey really caused. Old Jess was giving an interview later that very afternoon. Two days later, he exhibited only a little puffiness around his eye and took off to Chicago (en route to Kansas) driving his own car over what must have been horrible roads in a vehicle with archaic suspension. You just can't do that with broken bones in your face.

Methinks the reports of his injuries were a tad exaggerated.

Do you see Frank Bruno unloading 47 shots on Willard (some among Willard half on the floor), him getting up seven times into round 2 ??? Or Mercer and Witherspoon ??

    Yes

Willard was a tough son of a *****, what more do you want me to say? He was never down in his career until the fight with Dempsey.

From Jess Willard when he accused Dempsey of plaster: "My jaw is still caved in from the beating that fellow gave me with cement on his hands"

The horse's mouth denies what you say.

Terrible thread, people say that because Willard today wouldn't continiue to get up as refs would stop the fight. But back then, he could get up as long as he could and he would the same against all of them, except that most of them wouldn't do to him the same Demspey did.

Frazier got up every single time against many Foreman's punches, does it mean that Foreman is not hard hitter at all?

So, obviously what we’re saying now is that Dempsey couldn’t punch.

Some posters seem try to play the everyday-simpleton  I guess thats where "the better watch tennis phrase" comes from.

One boxer gets no proper counting, totally defenseless, eating dozens of punches doing absolutely nothing until Dempsey gets ar weary.

The other gets down from a single uppercut, gets a proper counting, and starts bobbing again and landing himself, Foreman even throwing jabs in the process. After another single landed uppercut, exactly one minute after he landed the first single knockdown punch, Frazier goes down the second time, 15 sec. remaining R1, getting tagged a third time and immediately getting down, saved by the bell.

    Comes out bobbing for R2......

    Oh lord

Please count all punches Foreman threw at Frazier before stopping him. I bet it's more than 2 uppercuts.

    Double standards all the way.

Do you watch your fights? Single blows landing put Frazier down. Tons of counts between, tons of time between, tons of bobbing between.
Or do you see a GF getting arm weary throwing 50 punches a round on a zombified fighter? No? So please stop this totally far-fetched comp.

Did you wrote Lewis among others "has a chance"? Bruno and Lewis throwing 47 punches on totally defenseless fighter, half on the canvas?

Tough son getting instantly down from a Dempsey roll punch? Like McCall, senior GF, or Mercer would? Tough like that?

Did you really IMAGINE that ???
