Rocky Marciano would more than hold his own with Ali. George Chuvalo gave Ali two very tough fights and Chuvalo had nowhere near the power in his punches that Marciano had. You are dreaming "in your mind" to say that Marciano had a zero chance of beating Ali.

  9. marciano was harder puncher yes, but chuvalo was faster ,bigger,he had better chin and he was stronger than marciano. and 30 pounds heavier than marciano, and it was not fat exactly.rocky was a mini rock of 185 pounds and chuvalo a solid rock of 215 pounds, marciano had poor skill, poor defence, short reach, he was not even a hw, he was schooled by walcott during 12 rounds, ali was faster than walcott, better fighter, he had much better chin, better reflexes, better jab, more stamina, more heart. bigger, walcott was not even a hw. and he was not even in his prime, and he gave the hell to rocky in the first fight. a prime ali 64-67 would beat marciano with a hand in the back.plain and simple

Marciano had some deficiencies, but he can't be discounted against anyone. He possessed the standard for conditioning and stamina, a bottomless supply of heart and will, and scorecard-erasing power.

He also did some things that would be to his advantage stylistically against Ali.

Ali definitely wouldn't have an easy night, even in victory.

  11. yes, the pressure... but rocky was slow, too slow to catch a prime ali, too short and too small. frazier and tyson yes, they would be a hard match, but rocky weighed 185 pounds and he was very short and slow. even if rocky catch ali with a lucky shot, ali took shots from harder punchers...

jim corbett: Never really watched him fight

jim jefries: Never watched him fight

jack johnson: Marciano (Rocky's pressure and power would be too much)

jack dempsey:Dempsey by Knockout. Too fast and explosive for Rocky.

Gene Tunney: Rocky would catch him and knock him out somewhere. If an old Dempsey could catch him, a prime Marciano would definitely destroy him. Rocky could cut the ring really well.

Joe Louis:Marciano by Knockout. Joe Louis hated pressure.

sonny liston: Most likely Sonny Liston by knockout

george foreman:Foreman wins by early murder

    joe frazier:frazier by late knockout

    larry holmes:marciano by late tko

    evander holyfield:marciano by late tko

    mike tyson:tyson early tko

lennox lewis: Rocky would get inside somewhere and hit that chin. Rocky KO somewhere.

floyd patterson:marciano by ko in 5 rounds

riddick bowe: Rocky never fought anyone like Bowe. I pick Bowe to win probably by late stoppage

Ok boxers improved big time by the 50s compare to ture of the century. Around the late 20s and 30s technique had improved immensely so i pick Marciano over all the guys before Louis.

    Corbett- Marciano by Ko
Jeffries- Marciano by mid to later rounds stoppage. Jeffreis hangs tough for a while but Marciano gives him a real beating.

Johnson- Johnson would have the best shot out of the turn of the century fighters and i rank him as the slightly greater heavyweight for his time but id still lean towards Rocky.

Dempsey - This would be a war and very competetive but Rocky takes him out in the mid rounds in a fight of the century canditate.

Tunney- Early on Tunney gives a boxing lesson but the feeling here is Rocky behind on points scores a late stoppage.

Louis- This would be another great fight Louis survives a knockdown and some scary moments, but overall the brown bomber chops and bustes Rocky up before stopping him in 10.

Liston- Marciano would be in over his head here and would be made for Liston. Rocky fights his heart out and is competetive at times but gets brutally stopped or kod. Liston tko 8

Foreman - by brutal ko Foreman ko 3

Fraizer- WOw this is a great fighter but Joe just does everything a little better and stops Marciano in the midrounds of a highly competetive fight. Fraizer Tko 9

Holmes- Holmes is all wrong for Marciano and stops him late. He pretty much has his way with Rocky Holmes ko 11

Holyfield- Too athletic and tough enough to absorb Rockys best even when he slugs with the Rock. But Rock is competetive with Holy. Holyfield tko 9

Tyson - By early ko Rock trys to match him bravely but this spells doom for him. Tyson ko2 but exciting while it lasts.

Lewis- This is a physical mismatch. Lewis Ko 4

patterson- This is a pretty even matchup and i give Patterson a chance herre especially if he fights disciplined but after sweeping and dominating the early and most of the mid rounds Patterson gets to confident and eventually walks into something if not he gets worn down. Marciano ko 11

Bowe- Another physical mismatch Bowe ko 5

WHat happen to ALi? A prime Ali wins a convincing decision or possibly late stoppage..... Against an older Ali marciano is more competetive as Ali isnt quite as mobile and at times Rocky draws him into a slugfest much like Fraizer did, but Ali is still to fast and in the late rounds Rocky is busted up.... Ali by somewhat competetive but convincing decision.
