You are correct, Marciano had a perfect resume against the best of his times and Walcott, Charles and Moore were very dangerous guys at the point in time Marciano fought them. Marciano also had some tough crossroad fights at various stages of his career to get to the next level.Early on with a few fights fighting local favorites 8-0 Bobby Quinn and 15-0-1 Eddie Ross.. Tough Vingo at the prelim stage...Roland Lastarza 37-0..34-1 Rex Layne at the Main event stage and even some of his tough trial horse opponents like Keene Simmons who Marciano KO'd and Simmons went the distance with Big Cat" Williams next year....One thing is for sure there was never another fighter like Marciano inside and out he was a freak of a man with a giant heart and giant power and I do not think there will ever be another like him

The last 7 guys beat Marciano. Sorry in an atg ranking he comes out on top but HTH im thinking probably not, dont get me wrong he might beat some of these guys but on their best day i say nay!! I think especially Michael Spinks,Pinklon Thomas and a prime Tubbs,Page,Dokes would be all wrong for the Rock. The other of the last 7 i give Rocky a 50/50 chance

Not sure on that, Dokes, Page, Tubbs were 2nd raters in there OWN era. And even in head to head, I cant relly put them over Rocky Marciano who clean out his era.

I might as well start ranking this bunch over the Holmes, Tyson's and Lewis's h2h if you think they can beat Marciano. There was a reason Holmes mostly had a easy time in his era. They were not that great.

I appreciate your point but I think all of that seven lacked the dedication and the conditioning ... notice I left out Witherspoon ... to defeat a prime Marciano ...

    I'm not sure about ...

    Fitz
    Dempsey
    Tunney
    Bruno

I pick the following over Rocky:

    Johnson
    Louis
    Liston
    Ali
    Holmes
    Frazier
    Foreman
    Holyfield
    Lewis
    Bowe
    Tyson
    Vitali
    Wlad
    Witherspoon

Jack Johnson has little chance against Marciano. Tho Johnson was strong, clinching Marciano is a lot different task than doing the same to Burns. The work-rate of Marciano would completely unhinge his apple cart as well. Johnson at best scores a flash KD with a lead right but Marciano prevails to KO in 9.

I think he was made to order. Johnson was stronger, would tie him up and chop him to pieces ...

I'm sure Johnson looks stronger when he's fighting midgets and old fat men. However, Marciano was very strong and very slippery, hard to get a hold of. I have never seen footage of Johnson matching Marciano's output and the Rock's power would tell over the rounds.

john l sullivan...sullivan in a bar room brawl after an exhausting few hours
jim corbett...marciano in amore scientific marquess of qb rules type fight..wears down and stops cornbett around 14 rounds
jim jefries: closer but possibly jefferies innate strenght gives him a slight edge, although the rock was marvelously conditioned..i fin dthis very hard to pick
jack johnson: jj by wide points win
jack dempsey:marciano would test that suspect chin even more than the pampas bull did, multiple kd's but dempsey finishes on his feet and loses a decsiion
    gene tunney: marciano by decision
joe louis: louis by clear decision, maybe even late stoppage
sonny liston:tough one, could go either way but i think liston is too big, too powerful..might stop the rock by 6th
george foreman: big george kos marciano
joe frazier:frazier by tight but clear decsion
larry holmes: clear ud for holmes, jab too good, too big, too sharp in his prime
evander holyfield: real deal ud in bruising fight of the century
    mike tyson:tyson early, marciano late
lennox lewis: lewis by brutal upercuts inside, too big too powerful...post ko lewis boxes to clear decision
    floyd patterson: rocky within 8
riddick bowe: stops marciano after excitiong give and take war of attrition...too big
    ali...clear ud for the goat

There is no other heavyweight champion in history who gets recognition for defeating old men more than Rocky so get real ...

    Louis 37
    Charles 33
    Walcott 38
Moore 38 plus at least ...

    And fat ones ...

    Cockell

There is no other heavyweight given credit when having such trouble with midgets, Kentucky Hillbillies and amateur cowboys.

Tho I partly agree with you about Marciano, also.
