Agbeko-Mares: DISGRACEFUL REFFING & CORRUPTION/RACISM

    Racist referee - supporting the Mexican as he is of Mexican decent himself - I can see no other plausible reason, except for corruption. Maybe it's a bit of both?

    To note:

    Russel Mora deducts point from both Guerrero (sympathy for taking one from Katsidis) and Katsidis (without a warning) in their recent fight for low-blows and also disqualifies Anthony Peterson for low-blow (A black fighter against a fight of Mexican descent).

    I consider myself a pretty objective scorer (ignore the avatar, simply showing my support for this bout), here is my scorecard:

    I can see it being a bit closer, but a clear win for Agbeko without the referee.

    As I said numerous times prior to the fight, I believed the FIX was in. However, the judging wasn't horrendous as they were only scoring what the ref told them to, but I definitely believe there was some money handed under the table to Mora for this.

    Dont see GBP going for the rematch.

    don't remember the rios/peterson one, but his call on Katsidis was clearly BULL**** and at a point in the fight when Michael was coming on strongly. I also believe he took the point with no warning.

    We can't be sure that referee was racist, but if I were in that position it is not something I would be reluctant to consider at all. Horrible job. I hope the rematch happens soon.

    I didn't score the fight, but I thought Mares did just enough to win. Of course, it's hard to determine certain rounds when Agbeko is getting up from fully pivoted low blows and loses a bit of steam after winning part of them. Agbeko was having good success boxing him in some of the rounds, and it was close.

    Also, when you rewatch the tape, it looks like for some reason the ref was looking at Mares's face, and didn't seem to be looking at the punches being thrown on the inside at all. Not making excuses for him, **** job, **** calls throughout, but it's worth nothing I feel.

    REFEREE was BLIND to anything that Mares did because he seem to be waiting for Agbeko to do something wrong or do something to Mares so he could warn him....

    Beyond PATHETIC

    USA isnt neutral if the damn ref is mexican like the fighter...the world is ****ed up, just the way it is

    Agbeko needs a Black ref in the rematch.

    I'm tired of this affirmative action junk favoring Mexican fighters in boxing. They got Pernell against Chavez, and did Pernell again in the Oscar fight.

    You know, It is said that if you live long enough you will see some **** that you never thought you would see and this is a case in point. This was an act ( by the Ref ) of premeditated irresponsibility. With his bull****, he tarnished an exceptional fighters win and an exceptional fighters loss. Shame on his punk ass.:twisted::twisted::twisted:

    I don't think Mora's a racist as much as he was bought off to be a corrupt piece of **** tonight.
