I'm worried about him making the effort to come back down to 154, too.

He should just stick to 160.

Sexio gets hit in every fight. That's bound to catch up with you eventually, especially when you're 37. Fighters who rely on speed and movement tend to fade very fast once those strengths diminish, even slightly. That's why Calzaghe was so smart for getting out when he did. I hope Sergio has the sense to do the same. That said, he should leave Macklin in a heap on the canvas. I think he's thinking another run at 154 to get Canelo for the big bucks, or maybe entice Floyd to take a chance. Who knows.

You didn't know that he got an extremely late start in the sport, or that he toiled for several years in obscurity in Europe before he started to break big on the American scene? :think

Those are two major parts of what makes the Maravilla legend so marvelous. :deal

Is that size and strength enough to not only make up the skill deficit, but overtake it and allow Macklin to be more competitive with what we can assume will be more or less the exact same version of Martinez that Barker was decisively defeated by? (despite being a bit competitive) :think

Not sure but I think he will lose soon, I just have this feeling, I think Barker sort of exposed him tbh.

Definitely that is why JCC SR called himna beggar he is desperate to land something big with anyone with drawing power, like WW Pac and May..... Mexican Stars like CANELO JCC JR, and PR star in Cotto...

Why doesn't he call out Ward? Hopkins? Pirog...?

Anyways... He is looking to cash out.

Man so what if he is begging. Dude has had bad luck in getting big fights and has made a huge climb recently.

Even if he fought Ward and Hopkins he would not get the publicity he would fighting any of those 5 you mentioned.

I see no reason for Jr. not to fight him. Im sure Martinez can draw alot more than anyone else Jr will fight. Simple as that.
Also as a fight fan why wouldnt you want to see MArtinez face any of those names???
