So ungodly tough, and or active as fighters. Most of them come off as having absolute granite jaws, just really rough and tumble types. Is it the lifestyle? Just that area of the world? Any stories pertaining to it would be interesting. Jorge Fernando Castro is one of the best examples. One of the few fighters of recent years who actually had more fights then the likes of Duran. Victor Emilio Ramirez is a perfect specimen. He just upset Alexeev who many thought was the next CW king. Guys built like an iron tank and took some ungodly shots before grinding Alexeev down. So, thoughts? And who else?
It's funny what Manny Steward said about Juanma's last opponent, and I think he's right. He's the only Argentinian fighter who I've seen on a big stage, who hasn't come to win. They have a great fighting mentality.
Yeah, I did. Although I think Medina admitted it wasn't true a few days later. If you believed his acusations the first time, then you could put his change of mind down to fear as well, I suppose. Personally, I think he knew he was outgunned and wanted to save face. Sadly, he dragged Juanma's name into the dirt in doing so, but I don't believe the things he said at all. Just going off the subject for a second, what do you think of Lopez? I reckon he's really good, from what I've seen. His power is something special.
Ive seen a lot and I mean a lot of Argentinian pikers. They seems just to turn up for a holiday, going down from phantom punches or just running and holding their way to either a DQ loss or a dropping a wide decision. Quite a fascinating phenomena because the best from their country are generally exactly how you describe them Russ. If you are the best fighter in your division in Argentina you are usually a very very good fighter, as we have seen over the years. But the next tier of fighters..seen to many that are so poor with seemingly ridiculously padded records to say that Argentines all are as you say Russ. We got a lot of these fighters come to Australia..Their records look pretty, sometimes they are even ranked because they won some obscure south american regional..But not always do they give 100% or even close to it. There is much debate in Australia about our recycling of SE Asian fighters from the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia. But give me one of those guys any day over a domestic level Argentinian..They come to fight and put on a good show..To many times have I seen the reverse from an Argie import. Same goes with Japanese fighters...Some are like samurai, kamikaze and godzilla rolled into one..others fold like origami at the first sign of trouble. Im sure you could find examples like that from fighters of all nationalities.
