Aggression and hard punching is by far the most important part of scoring

Yes other things do matter and they can make a difference. At the end of the day though this is professional boxing. It's not yoga. It's not dance. It's combat.

You have to respect the guy who is the hard driver, the aggressor, the one who instills fear and respect round by round. And lands the hard shots.

    Because it's fighting.

So you would rather see a bunch of boring low workrate, low aggression fighters throwing slappy punches?

That's not only boring, it's not quality boxing.

Then discount Amir Khan and Joe Calzaghe's entire fight career. Take back the awards, belts, money and record because they were not "AGGRESSIVE, HARD PIUNCHERS".
A few other names go there too.

Wladamir Klitschko was not aggressive for the past 10 years or ever in that matter. Take those accolades ,because winning said so .

Viktor Postol gone, Paul Malinaggi gone, Tim Bradley gone, Erislandy Lara gone, Rigondeaux gone, Frampton gone, .....

Wlad didn't need to win on points. He was too busy finishing damn near everybody.

So there's only two options? All you did was throw two extremes at me.. You either like hard punching, however that's measured, and aggression, or you want to see barely no punching..

Just because you find something boring, doesn't mean it is and it needs to go.. I find soccer/futball boring..

If you think two guys walling up to each other trying to knock each other out with every punch, because that's what's more important, will make the sport better, then you don't know what quality boxing is..

I'm saying yes the guy who's walking forwards and being the aggressor should get the nods in most cases. Especially if he's got good head movement and blocking incoming shots.

What constantly gets ignored by these Chris Algieri featherfist bums and fans is its much harder to look good in prettiness being the aggressor.

The aggressor initiates and exposes himself more than the counter puncher.

What if the aggressor was missing because the other guy was moving? Does he still win the round?

You can't make a sport with everyone having the same style.. If you're not going to reward defence, ring generalship, or anything else, you're eliminating styles which would make the sport worse like I said in my first post...

Obviously if the aggression is completely inneffective than the aggressor should not win on points.

So boxing should remain the exact same then? Cool...
