    Yeh, what I was thinking.

His movement like the Arguello fight combined with those scrappy rushes and obviously the power.

It is though, I mean Saddlers in it but it just sounds worse than normal.

I think Ramos in his very brief prime - when he wasn't so weight-drained and lacking in late rounds stamina- would've had a really good chance against Sanchez. Not a pure aggressor in the narrowest sense of the word but a rounded, attacking, smooth, fluid, sometimes Napoles-like boxer-puncher with real physical presence and big time power in both hands (not that he'd stop Sanchez, like). He could be a crafty, explosive counterpuncher too when he chose to be, was good off the ropes and had the sort of great, whipping overhand right that would have landed frequently on Sanchez. And he had the faster hands imo.

The thing what puts me off though as I mentioned at the start, his prime was really brief and having to kill himself to make the weight all the time got to him in the end. He faded down the stretch against King, Robertson and most notably Saldivar, which isn't something you want to be doing against a three-lunger like Sanchez. He also neglected/disregarded his defence/head movement a lot of the time and was fairly easy to hit, which is another thing you don't need against Sanchez, although he had a good chin and powers of recuperation.

Hogan Bassey perhaps, a little bit like Nelson in the footage, World class. He seems aggressive enough to meet the criteria for the thread, if not in the Fenech mould of course, then again, if Jeff changed it up like he did against Villasana late, he might cause Sal' problems there too. If I was pushed, I'd take Sal' to stop Jeff late over 15, in what would be an undoubtedly great fight I'm sure.

It's a pretty horrid question, I favour Sal' over most of these stylists bar Armstrong.

Maybe McLarnin, though there's no footage of him at around nine stone. And he went through phases in his early career of trying to find his style from what I can gather. Certainly experienced at that point, with speed and power, to replicate what Nelson did, with lesser chance of getting beat down. Depends how he shows up I guess, right hand happy or not. I suppose we should take him against Fields, which was when it all seemed to come together for Jimmy.

If Pacquiao could make 126 on the day Salvador Sanchez is not the kinda' guy I'd want him facing.

To be honest mate, I haven't seen quite enough of Bassey to give a reliable opinion, though I can definitely see the resemblance to Nelson. Since we've mentioned Ramos and Bassey, what about Davey Moore? Excellent fighter imo, a really talented stylist with a lot of attributes. Him against Sal would've been an intriguing contest.

    I'd not thought of McLarnin......

I don't think any of these guys beat Sanchez as I think he's the H2H best FW, but I'd say Pedroza, Arguello and McGuigan have 2 of the best shots. First 2 aren't pure pressure guys

I'm surprised no ones gone for Saldivar, not that I'd pick him

Pedroza doesn't really fit the bill though.

saldivar would have a better shot than McGuigan that's for sure.Barry just didn't have the physical ability for it imo.Not strong or tank-like enough.

I didn't mention Saldivar as he's a natural counte puncher who exploded into all-out aggression.

No way for McGovern, not based on the footage we have.
