    £27k ain't all that much.

    I wouldn't box amateur to earn that..... I'd just get a day job.

    Or turn pro and have a day job....

    Do you people think these boxers are just given 27k in the bank..?

    What kind of commitment are we talking about here? If these boxers train amateur full time (I honestly don't know how the amateur game works), then 27k (even if paid directly into the bank account), is not that great considering how short their careers are combined with the opportunity cost of spending all that time in something which provides few avenues for work later in life. If the amateur boxing is done in tandem with other activities that improve their earning potential after boxing, then maybe it's not so bad.

    Simply answer is turn pro. The amount you earn as a pro is unlimited, if your good enough. Not only is amatuer boxing **** to watch, the boxers will only earn a capped amount
