Total no hoper...check little power...check terrible speed...check co-feature on a TV broadcast (Al Haymon magic)...check Guy is a friggin joke.
I thought he retired after Loma put a boxing clinic on him. :rofl What can has Gaymon matched him with? :think
Nothing wrong with a confidence builder after a tough loss. Russell Jr didn't embarrass himself that night and can beat a lot guys at 126. Loma just happened to be the better fighter.
Loma is the truth a future P4P elite nothing wrong with losing to him. Russell showed a good chin and heart in that fight and made alot of fans after.
To be honest, I'm not sure what kind of guy he is, but if he's back to fighting cans he's wasting his talent, he's already tasted top opposition, face at least a halfway decent fighter. Glad he's back by the way, hope he learnt from his mistakes on that night.
:deal Russell could beat Mares, Selby, Cuellar etc. In short, the kid is STILL one of the better featherweights out there.
He's good but 1 dimensional, he's a heavy front footed guy who throws every punch at the same speed and doesn't move his feet+torso enough.
his with Gaymon what do you expect Derevychenko made a huge mistake signing with haymon, his the most pro ready amateur of all time, 29, world bronze medalist and a 26-1 record in wsb , his already done 8 rounders in wsb yet haymon has him fighting cans in 4 rounders

wtf are you talking about "clinic"? do you even know the meaning of that word? the scores were 8-4 twice and 6-6. nobody got dropped or hurt in the whole fight....the difference was loma was substantially physically bigger. other than that, it was a very competitive fight.
The difference was skill not size, he got outboxed. It wasn't very competitive either, the only reason Gary even won as many rounds as he did (which is debatable, I'd say 3-4 is about right, 5 is pushing it) was purely because of Loma's low activity level in the middle rounds.
