Chatgpt is already better than humans in many ways. In other sports, AI is also better at judgment than humans.
Only it isn't. The AI will always depend on what the human gives him as information, especially when it comes to science.
AI learns and improves on itself, and most importantly, it's much more accurate than an 80-year-old boomer
Dave Moretti has posted awful cards more than once. He never had to justify himself. AI software can be crosschecked and tested, unlike humans it does not run on vibes.
AI can correctly count shots (which is a great assistant, but I'm not sure how much CompuBox is considered by the judges even now), but can not adequately consider: Effective aggression Ring generalship Defence Style effectiveness without messing it with effective aggression and ring generalship Understand properly point deductions At current, will struggle to avoid close rounds which aren't forbidden, but aren't tolerated The hard and the clean punches
To clarify, I'm not saying you believe this, I've just been looking to air my thoughts on this for awhile. It's interesting to me that most people seem to think that the world won't change due to technology in their lifetime again. It's especially interesting when it's people who are a bit older that think like this. I mean if you were born in 1982, you've seen the world wide web, smart phones and many other things change the world in huge ways. Technology will continue to advance and change the world. Consider every 50 years for the past few hundred years: 2023 1973 1923 1873 1823 1773 The pace is only getting faster and faster. I think the world will be totally different from today by the time I leave it. Basically unrecognizable.
I do believe the technology is rapidly progressing the last decades and it will continue to do so, which is fine if used the noble way and we, people, reconsider our values. Take one older, like late 80's to 90's movie where the early 2000's is depicted, you'll notice: - despite how good the movie was, it looks amusingly outdated, stupid even - how funny and idiotic the near future, which currently is our close past, is presented
Open scoring is the answer So the fighters & fans will know the judges criteria. the scorecards get announced & documented anyway. Transparency is in order for the fighters to know if they need to make adjustments.
