Heres an Email that I assume has been sent to any members of USA Boxing

To: USA Boxing Board of Directors
    LBC Presidents
    LBC Vice Presidents
    LBC Registration Chairpersons
    LBC Treasurers

    From: Anthony Bartkowski, Executive Director

    Date: October 24, 2012

Re: AIBA Suspension of USA Boxing Effective Immediately – October 19, 2012

CC: Mr. Steve Smith, Bryan-Cave HRO

USA Boxing just received notification from AIBA, the international federation for boxing, that all amateur
boxing activities in the United States are immediately suspended. The suspension cancels all
sanctioned competitions; coach and official clinics; boxing club activities; membership registrations; and
    insurance coverage.

USA Boxing and our insurance companies will not take any insurance claims until the AIBA suspension
is remedied and/or served until January 19, 2013.

The AIBA Disciplinary Commission levied this suspension against the organization for inappropriate
and improper statements made by Mr. Hal Adonis earlier this year. The AIBA Disciplinary Commission
Decision of October 19, 2012 states:

“By failing to remove Mr. Adonis from the USA Boxing Board of Directors when it had the chance
to do so, USA Boxing, in essence, endorsed Mr. Adonis’ statements and sent out a message that
such behavior was acceptable. The action (or lack thereof) and the very serious and harmful
nature of Mr. Adonis statements, has jeopardized boxing and the Panel finds it appropriate to
impose a suspension upon USA Boxing. This suspension must reflect the severity of the offence.”

    The AIBA suspension terms are:
    1. USA Boxing shall be fully suspended for a period of 3 months from October 19, 2012
    2. Mr. Adonis shall pay a fine of CHF 2,000 and be suspended from all boxing activities at national
and international levels, for 2 years starting from October 19, 2012.
    3. The costs of the proceedings, fixed at CHF 1,500, shall be borne equally between USA Boxing
    and Mr. Adonis.
    4. The decision will be communicated to USA Boxing, Mr. Adonis (via Hollie L Wieland of Karp
Neu Hanlon Attorneys) and to the Headquarters of AIBA.

This is the initial notification. It is unclear if further conditions or demands will follow. We are waiting on
further details from AIBA. Your President; Board of Directors; and Executive Director are working
diligently to determine any further demands of this suspension and to see if USA Boxing can offer any
remedies to shorten it. In the event that we are successful in shortening or lessening our penalties,
USA Boxing will notify you immediately to let you know your sanctioned event can take place. Please
assist in communicating this information to your constituents as soon as possible. We will continue to
update you on the status of this suspension as necessary. In the meantime, USA Boxing and the Board
of Directors are taking every measure available to ensure that amateur boxing is resumed as soon as
    possible.

UPDATE: USA Boxing issues a reversal.

    President CK Wu
    AIBA
    Maison du Sport International
    Avenue de Rhodanie 54
    Lausanne, Switzerland CH-1007

    Sent Via Email

    October 25, 2012

    Dear President Wu,

USA Boxing has received and acknowledges the decision of the AIBA Disciplinary
Commission. USA Boxing accepts that the remarks of Mr. Hal Adonis and the vote of 34
members were a violation of principles of the Olympic movement. We deeply apologize for
    those remarks.

Remarks that discriminate against large groups of our athletes based on race or gender and
associate the sport of boxing with child abuse are totally foreign to our membership. Our
members have dedicated their lives to helping the young men and women of our country get
off the streets and change their lives for the better. Many of these young men and women have
become great American Olympic and World Champions, who are ambassadors for boxing
worldwide. The membership of USA Boxing treats all athletes and members with equality and
    respect.

As President of USA Boxing, for the protection of our Boxers and in fairness to our 37,000
members, judges, referees, and coaches who have dedicated their lives to this great sport, we
respectfully ask for immediate clarification and modification of the suspension to confirm that
our athletes may compete on every level and the suspension will not prohibit USA Boxing from
    operating at any level.

The United States Olympic Committee has already demanded that changes be made to the
way USA Boxing is governed and run. The offense of which we are guilty is one committed by
our leadership. Please allow our leadership to accept responsibility and make it right. With
complete respect for you as the man who changed the image of AIBA from a tarnished
organization to a sport that has earned the respect of the IOC and the World, I ask you to help
the athletes and all the good members of USA Boxing to survive this time of crisis in our
    organization.

On behalf the members of USA Boxing, thank you for your consideration and your help. We
    respectfully await your response.

    Respectfully submitted,

    Charles F Butler
    President of USA Boxing

Long Story Short from what I've read.

USA Boxing refused to remove a head member from their Board of Directors, after he made some "offensive" comments.

    AIBA slams the Ban Hammer.

USA Boxing issues call for a reversal.

I am very upset, because I was to partake in a Amateur show in about 2 weeks, which has just lost its sanction.

America should just take controls of its own boxing and start its own sanctioning body. The system sucks.
