Shakhnazaryan is on his bike now. No more fancy crouching, standing at attention. Full-on scissoring his legs into a gallop, kicking both heels together like Dorothy pining for life down on the Kansan farmstead. Rivera is just walloping him at will with over the top lefts, coming straight at him. BIG right hooks on the body by Rivera as well. Shakhnazaryan with little answer now offensively, just in survival mode. When he does put a combo together, Shakhnazaryan just wastes energy pivoting into his shots only to have them bounce off Rivera's crossed forearms or ding harmlessly off the sides of his imperturbable face.

Round 8

Shakhnazaryan is now rowing his left glove out to smack down Rivera's jab in midair. Shakhnazaryan tries lining him up for a right hand ambush, timing it just a beat late and skidding across Rivera's shoulder. Shakhnazaryan keeps trying and connects a little cleaner but Rivera doesn't mind getting blasted in the face one bit as long as he can touch up Shakhnazaryan's body. Rivera not getting many chances now, though, as Shakhnazaryan is making an effort to be first. Shakhnazaryan landing some combos through Rivera's guard. Toeing a line in the sand and making his stand.
