Moved back to uni and unlike last year didnt bring weights down with me. Now aside from pushups and the plank, what are some good exercises I can do to improve upperbody and overall strength? Cheers
Pushups, pull-ups, chin-ups, handstand pushups, dips, burpees, squats, lunges, jump squats, jump lunges.
:nono I asked for bulding strength. Wanking is good for muscle endurance, if it was good for strength id probably be UK arms wrestling champion by now.
buy a cheap doorway dip/chinup bar and you'll have pretty much everything you need for upper body strength. Oh that and dynamic pushups (where you clap your hands behind your back), they're pretty cool for practicing explosiveness. legs is harder because they have alot more strength potential than your upper body, but if you really can't get to any weights then squats and their variations will have to do. Surely your uni has a gym? I'm pretty sure they all do.
Wanking is good for strength, endurance and co-ordination. Ever tried wanking with your left hand, if your right handed..? or vice versa... It improves co-ordination a swell. Just put afew rist weighst on your rists, and start wanking. Its a brillant forearm workout, and dose'nt get boring like some of the other forearm workouts.
Defo invest in a cheap doorway chin up bar, you can get them for as little as £12 and they fit in most doorways, great value and great for your upper body.
