AJ’s future?

I don't think the full ramifications of this have really hit home yet. It's another rather significant dynamic change after the one we had when Fury came back.

I thought that Whyte would be after Miller, after Whyte Ortiz. I'd be amazed if that happens now, Whyte was evidently given a royal run around by Hearn over the rematch fiasco and will ask for far far more than previous. He also now has the 50-year experience of Arum to fall back on in negotiations.

Assuming we get the same old "A-side" nonsense, it essentially leaves Joshua with no credible opponent as you said for at least another 12-24 months, and that's working on the assumption that the also-rans can be sufficiently built up in that time and crucially, play ball. That is of course, unless Eddie actually starts giving ground on "muh negotiations", which he prides himself on not doing....

 

He will go for the Wilder fight in my opinion. If he concedes now and wins the last belt everyone needs him at that point.

Plan B is he fights Pulev next as his mandatory will likely be called later this year. By which time Usyk will be 2 fights in and ready for that fight then he will have a WBA mandatory which they will likely try to build Kuzmin or Hrgovic into which would be late 2020 and those guys could fight 5-7 fights between now and then. They will build options if nobody wants to earn good money and a shot at becoming the champ.

Shouldn't the rest be chasing the guy with the belts. That's how sport generally works.

 

AJ will be fine, if he can't get good enough opponents here, he can fight in the US for huge money on DAZN.

It's British fans that are the ones who will suffer. With so many British fighters due to fighting in the US we're going to get the dregs.

Why is it such a double standard... it’s all about what AJ needs to do... the others can do what they want and still AJ is ducking.

Why is there not the same pressure on wilder to make the AJ fight... why is it acceptable that Whyte and fury go to fight exclusively on a platform with no belts.

Any fighter can decide not to fight AJ but the second AJ decides to fight someone that will... its oh here we go we knew he would fight a knock over!

 

I think there could be a real chance that we see AJ- Wilder in the US at the end of the year, assuming both win their next fights.

 

And I get that but maybe there is something I am missing but AJ offered Wilder 15 millions straight which was call A derisory offer... and he’s earning what 7-8 in his biggest fight... 60-40 in the states surely would be even bigger.
