AJ Advert promotion

    To be clear I'm a big AJ fan. Seen him fight numerous times. Both early career at York hall and big venues and I've always enjoyed the AJ hype train.

    But jeez sitting here watching the snooker highlights, AJ pops up on the screen, my interest naturally peaked, but feck me. It was the most cringe worthy bit of tv I've ever watched and I watched x factor and love island.( not out of choice)

    The question I pose is, has Anthony Joshua lost his dazzle for him to be in " two bob" betting advert. I won't name the company for obvious reasons. But why I just don't get it.

    Is Joshua losing the massive, okay general casual fan Base that this type of stunts make him relevant again. All seems very desperate.

    I'm sure they paid him more than two bob to do that advert, he made $7.5 million last year from endorsements according to one article I saw, that's more than most champions make in a year from actually fighting.

    Having said that, the advert is a bit cringe worthy, not sure about the scene where his gloves light up like he's at some EDM festival or something, just plain weird.

    Still got slicker moves out of the ring in that advert than Wilder has inside the ring!

    Of course he made more than two bob, I was saying it was a two bob advert, especially considering his " stature". The whole thing is a bit odd

    No way near as cringey as the Talk Talk Broadband guy , you know the fake Peter Kay guy . Those ads make me want to kill myself .

    I like AJ but yeah, the advert is a bit cringe. But would you do it for a million or probably more? I would.

    The betting company generates £1.5billion in annual revenue...would hardly call it two bob.

    If you're a marketable athlete you go where they shake the most money for endorsements.

    I dont blame AJ for doing it.

    You dont know its gonna be that incredibly bad when you sign the paperwork... and once youre in it you probably feel youre stuck there.


    Im more shocked that anyone would actually put that together and put it out as an official ad... that was insane. How can anyone involved with that felt ok with how that was turning out lol. Crazy.
