I've always noted strong similarities between Fury and Ali (long before he beat Wlad, I posted threads etc that the fight had the earmarks of Ali/Liston I).

Now, despite beating an ATG in Wlad, he's being considered the underdog against Joshua if they ever fight. And that fight looks to me like a modern day incarnation of Ali Foreman. The destructive powerhouse favorite against the caggy underdog with better movement and ring IQ. I doubt he could get the regard of Foreman, there's no one around like Frazier that would give him that much credibility, but hopefully he can build up his resume a lot to make it as close as possible. Would be a great storyline.

I'd back AJ now to KO Fury. Take away Fury big win vs Wlad and he's nothing to write home about - AJ for me would KO him as soon as he started to connect. I don't think Fury could evade him for 12 rounds like he did an aging Wlad.

It certainly has the potential to be an absolute mega fight depending if fury goes on to defeat wlad again and wlad actually throws a punch and dosent look shot and joshuas doesn't get exposed by somebody better than Charles martain.

Both fighters look like they could be the real deal but both still unproven also, exciting times tho

His speed and power could pose a problem early. If Fury weathers the early storm he will give Joshua a boxing lesson.

I said bring on Fury in another thread and everyone was saying AJ is not ready. Fury is not all that, or is he? Let's find out. Clearly AJ can ko Fury if he can hit him. Let AJ have his chance.

Very much a poor man's Ali Foreman but yeah.
Thing is, Fury just doesn't have an Ali level chin.
He'll be winning rounds most definitely, but I have a hard time envisaging Fury avoiding getting caught flush with that straight right for 12 rounds.

AJ by daylight robbery. Hearn will make sure of it.

The way AJ won the IBF title (bum fix) will precede the rest of his career. Fury would school the stiff chap.

Fury's chin was proven pretty solid against wladmir.

hes more likely to be chinned by a povetkin overhand right, then one he can see at eye level.

We don't know about Fury's chin yet. So far, his career is almost exactly what Ali's was to this point. This describes both to a T:

KD'd by two lesser fighters before his initial title fight, thought to be chinny and therefore likely to lose to the monster punching champ, but takes the champs punches (such as they are, in a fairly disappointing match) to answer the initial questions, while not yet proving he has a great chin.

In other words, Fury could go on to prove he has an ATG level chin like Ali, or just an average chin, still too early to tell.

Fury's win over Wlad is nothing to brag about, it looked like a feinting contest. Fury vs Joshua is a good fight though.

Putting Fury and Joshua in the same sentance as Muhammad Ali, who had beaten everyone who was anyone in a steep-stacked era over 10+ years?

Fury has won a fight, and Joshua has won a fight. Against a 40+year old, and an unknown quantity who probably won't even fight again.

Sure, we should just worship Ali and never compare him to anyone, we should just consider hw boxing a closed sport and not even bother following it anymore. Moron. He and Louis are the two best HW's of all time, but Fury and or Joshua are well on their way to becoming top 10-15 ATG's. This is looking like a superstacked era as well. Who know's maybe one of them could stake a decent claim to GOAT. If you can't acknowledge it as a possibility, if no one can ever come close to Ali in your mind, if its actually offensive to even think someone could, why even follow the modern sport?

As he should be. Joshua is faster, more skilled and more talented.

    No, no, no, and no.

You try this again and again, and fail epically each time.

I didn't realize that explaining the obvious to someone was categorized as an " epic fail. " Now getting THROUGH to someone about it can certainly be a failure.. And you were the one who started a thread admitting that Fury was being viewed as an underdog. I just happen to agree with it.
