He'd do the same if he was matching Joshua with someone signed to Matchroom though.

(I thought Usyk was signed to Matchroom at one point. Not sure if that's correct or when it ended.)

If someone thinks that Joyce might defeat Usyk with jabbing alone he is delusional.
Usyk is masterful exactly in jabbing and does knows how to avoid these while Joyce jabs are effective, they are slow.
To beat Usyk Joyce should not relay on jabbing, he should clinch, maul and press Usyk, use hooks, half hooks and a lot of such kind of attacks.
He will lose pure just jab war vs Usyk for sure.
No one ever had won Usyk with jabs, even elite ams too. You should use jabs as part of defense vs Usyk not to score on him points via jabs in the face.

There are damn enough other ways to earn for a living not only in the ring. ;)
Ofc a lot of boxers are handicapped in thinking about this, still not all of them. Usyk is one of these who does knows this.

People are thinking about boxer's pay checks like from their previous checks and like they are able to earn only in the ring.
It is not like if you are a doctor, then you might earn with a glance when you are 60 y.o even more than when you are 34 y.o.
It is not like long term work contract.

Boxers career in the ring is short and anyone in this business should think how to earn for a living when they will not be active pro boxers.
Some form them does think about this reality even when they are only 20-30 y.o.

Whyte is WBC interim, why would Usyk fight him in the first place when if he wins this fight, he have to face mandatories like Hrgovic with IBF and others like WBA and WBO ?

Well if Whyte will be mandatory and this will go to the purse bids, Usyk then will not be able to insist on clause.

Btw if we assume that Usyk is only about pay checks and more money then I think he will be happy that his fights will be on purse bids and bids for ppv sales, then why not?
Purse bid = more chances to get more $ if he is like only about money.

Course he would. It's basic commercial sense.

    I didn't say this :)

What I said was that there's a risk for Usyk in fighting Joe Joyce. For what its worth I think he beats him, but I'm talking risk and reward, not outcomes.

Slowly but surely Eddie's inevitable and long foretold transformation into Frank Butcher gathers momentum.

Depends how Joyce will fight vs Usyk. If he will fight Usyk like he fought DD, then yeah, Usyk had beated him up and heavily.
If Joyce will use another flowchart, he does have enough chances to beat Usyk.

It will be a one way rematch clause, if AJ loses they do it again, if he wins bye bye usyk. That's fine with me and pretty standard these days. 70 / 30 - 80 / 20 split. Anything outside those parameters will go to purse bid / arbitration. Usyk's team is far more knowledgeable about weights, training etc, but I'm not liking the extra weight Usyk seems to be putting on for this fight. Seems to go against his strengths to me. I would be surprised if AJ drops the belt, I'm convinced he really wants to be the unified, undisputed champion.

Well, you can't force a mandatory to sign a rematch clause. He's a mandatory. You have to fight him. Rematch clause or not.

I suspect that if Usyk thinks that he might with time make enough extra money without having AJ in the ring, he might not sign 1 sided rematch clause offer.

If with this he will not have AJ fight, nothing wrong, AJ vacates WBO belt and good bye AJ.

Btw really ppl think that is someone is a pro boxer with some capital, he might earn only in the ring by fighting eddie's boxers?
    Nope.

Will see how this will be solved here.

    Cosigned!

All the stuff I've written about how Usyk gives AJ fits does not apply to a 230lb Usyk.

Just can't see how that is a good idea - would love him to prove us wrong, but feel it plays right into AJ's hands, and moves Usyk away from everything that has worked for him up until now.

I guess it's possible that this is reaction to Chisora (who is a strong guy), but that was Chisora - AJ has a very different style.

There might be some valid reason, in some situations it is good if boxer does have more fat in some places.
I suspect that this is because this reason here.

Or he will trim down fat in pre fight camp and we might see 217-219 lbs Usyk at weight ins.
Or 230-235 lbs Usyk version. maybe a bit more.
