Ruiz lost, no excuses for being a lazy fatboy. Usyk causes him problems and I think Furk can outbox him. No idea how Deontay goes against him, but he needs to fight one of these three next, ideally one of the first two. Only then will we know how good he is.
Really annoyed me last night... Partially cos I had aj in 6 but Joshua carried pulev.. N it's easy to say pulevs chin etc but Joshua literally waited n waited n waited for a highlight reel ko punch.. He Coulda finished him in the 3rd and he didnt.. Round after he did less than **** all... He really shoulda bin looking to impress n look like the Joshua of old.. I like pulev.. But he wasn't a threat
Wishful thinking on your part. I like Tyson Fury a lot ( remember I was one of the few predicting he would stop Wilder) but when AJ stops him you will need to find a new tune to sing
He seems like a nice enough guy and a good athlete, but he was immensely luck that Fat Andy got his ass kicked by the buffet line prior to their rematch.
It's not wishful thinking on my part at all. It's my personal opinion on his fragile mental state in the ring. He didn't look comfortable even when winning rounds against Pulev. I'm not even sure he's in love with the sport anymore . I'll stick with my opinion that when he faces Fury or even Usyk, Wilder, or maybe even tier two guys that as soon as he's gets some real pressure I think he just unravels.... I truly think he'd lost his confidence and self belief . I simply can't imagine him now in s 50-50 deep in the trenches fight and not gassing or panicking when the going gets really tough. What he dished out to Pulev last night he could never take himself in my opinion due to his low mental strength . I'll be looking forward to his next few fights. If my opinion is wrong then I'll happily admit to being a million miles off on my gut feeling that he's mentally shot. I don't think I am though.....I'm firmly out on the limb on this one . Time will tell.
I don't think he carried Pulev I just think he was scared of getting clipped and knocked out again because he deemed it too much of a risk to try and force the issue. Pulev has great powers of recovery and he's a feisty bugger so maybe he felt he'd recovered and it was prudent to soften him up some more before going for the kill again. I think the loss to the Mexican Oliver Hardy or rather Oliver Lardy took a big hit on his self-confidence and that the ghost of that humiliating loss to Oliver Lardy will be haunting him in future fights for quite some time, especially if he faces someone who can match him for size, youth and power.
Andy always liked the buffet so not sure that was really the problem in the 2nd fight the difference was AJ was just better prepared.
Think people missed it again but pulev hurt him in that fight last night with probably the first straight right he hit him with. Think it was either the 4th or 5th round. There was a reason joshua slowed down after having him about finished in the 3rd. He stopped throwing for a bit...think thats why people didnt pick up on it.
He's still a bit stiff and overly muscled for my liking. Punches are kind of robotic, lacking in fluidity. I dunno it's difficult to say what I mean here. I guess he lacks that whole body synergy that guys like Usyk and Fury have. Clinching is often a bit poor and leaves room for his opponents to punch him or throw him off. Defence can still be a bit porous. He has a tendency to switch off at times. Use of feints and half jabs can be a bit better. I see what he's trying to do but he often isn't as successful at it as he could be. Other than that I think he's a pretty good HW. Good timing, ring control, power, range of attacks, ability to stick to gameplans. He doesn't really do anything obviously poorly.
Give it a rest he’d have schooled any version of Ruiz. He’ll always have slow feet and a massively inferior reach no matter how fit he is.
AJ sure taught Andy a lesson in their first fight Lesson. When a muscle man gasses trying to take you out - you've got him were you want him.
