Just got back today and watched the show, but did anyone else find the countdown of KO's from Anthony Joshua cringeworthy?? I really felt there was no need for it and it made Anthony Joshua look a bit silly!! As for the fight, I saw the fight when over in the states but not the walk in, Imo Gary looked beat as he walked in, I've never seen him look so nervous and I think the whole occasion got the better of him. I think that Gary will have to work hard to come back and maybe look at bringing in a top coach if he wants to actually compete against the other domestic guys. He also needs matched against better opposition going forward. Anthony Joshua looked very good in getting the KO so early and I think that he will be past domestic level after he beats Dilian Whyte.
Yeah that countdown was awful hope its not a sign of things to come with hearn trying to make aj a megastar.joshua should just let his boxing do his talking and leave all that cringe worthy pr to the yanks
it was awful. here is a list of the bums Ive knocked out just in case you need reminding that i have beat nobody.
Not enough Rock is used for ring entrances ... at least in UK and States anyway such a shame goes really well. Suprised i aint really heard Enter Sandman by 'tallica for anyone would really work
I enjoy well created and different entrances but what was clever or creative about counting down your KO victories so far? Imo it did nothing for the spectacle of the show unlike when Naz came in on a magic carpet etc It was almost like ramming it down everyones throats! I wonder if they will keep doing it until he goes the distance?
If it's got you talking about it, it's done its job. That's how I see it. They aren't appealing to the hardcore fan, they're letting the casual know what a 'machine' he supposedly is.
I don't agree with the statement that it's got us talking so it's job done tbh, my mate was there and he bought tickets to see AJ (I have never seen him at a boxing show before) and it was him that told me to watch it over and see what I thought about it. He is a casual fan who thought it was shameful and I agree. Isn't it really desperation to have to show the people in attendance that have already bought tickets knowing his record or to have to remind the viewers on SKY that have watched all of his KO's in the build up to have to see them again as AJ counts them down on a big screen? I'd much rather have seen him come out with something more creative but at the end of the day it's all about perception and opinions. You liked it I didn't!!
Yeah I was gonna say the germans do hence why i said UK and States... Hell the germans even get the band to play a gig before it also ..... Germans love ther metal !
