I don't believe a word of the rumours, but to answer your question... why would he announce a surprise delay to his next fight, after he and his promoter were adamant they'd go 3 times this year, without any detail as to why? Cryptic information at best. I'm sure that non-announcement is what led to the garbage rumours today. Maybe something's up that's none of our business and fair enough if so, but you can't deny there's a bit of an information vacuum just now.
It’s most likely Twitter BS but just to add some conjecture he could have popped for Usyk 2 and it’s only come to light now, like Fury’s and somewhat like Khans.. Would explain the hyper aggression (mania) at the end of the fight. I don’t know, what do you think @DramaShow ?
The hulking great muscle bound power house AJ couldn't knock the dreads off Franklin while juiced too the Max. Yeah I smell bull****
This content is protected Does AJ get a pass from you if this is the reason he’s not fighting until December? Personally feel this is more reason for him to get out again this summer even if it’s another Franklin type. Facing Wilder after failing to stop Franklin leaves AJ more mentally vulnerable than ever.
There's quite a stark moral aspect about this one. If you are looking after Joshua's boxing interests/health then he should have a fight, or even two, in between. But the money men obvs don't want to risk an interim fight and it all going up in flames. Obvs we know the people looking after the money won the argument. Is anyone really looking after Joshua ? Or is he just being cashed out by all?
Exactly - 6 months!!! not 1 or 2. Fury was in the ring with Wilder 5 months after his severe cut against Wallin. These are fighters, people shouldn’t encourage them being wrapped in cottonwool. AJ should be out in late June period.
The issue for AJ, is he can't have a tune up fight in the interim, because he would be fair to big a risk to lose. Franklin isn't a puncher and he was still scared of his power. For as much Dubois is limited, even someone like him would have a good chance of beating AJ at the moment purely because he can punch. Dillian Whyte who has looked a corpse in his last two fights, is still too much of a gamble.
