AJ has stated in a recent interview that he`s thinking of taking a year off, however he only fights once a year anyway so what`s the difference if he takes a year off? This content is protected
His ego can't handle the fact that it is now proven that he is nowhere near the best of this era. He should stick to facing no-hopers, which he has done, barring three bouts in his entire career.
Bum ass is waiting for a free belt which will fall into his lap yet again. Paid for and manufactured champion. There are only 3 men in this division. Fury, Joyce & Usyk. Usyk shall fall next year...but there is no shame in it given he is not a true HW.
That's just not true. He's not the best of this era but his handlers clearly thought he was with the way the were bringing him up. Undefeated gary Cornish. Undefeated future hw title challenger dillian Whyte. After that everyone (I believe) he faced was ranked and includes the best of the previous era, a unification with a highly touted Parker, old warhorse povetkin and possibly the GOAT cruiserweight. If the resume doesn't impress u, it's the fault of the era not AJ. Other than making the wilder fight happen when it should have (and I'm still not sure who to blame for that) Im not really sure what you want from the guy. Shouldnt we be happy with a guy who takes fights he could (and sometimes does) actually lose?
The only way to say usyk is a better heavy than povetkin is to acknowledge that AJ is a good fighter. Otherwise his heavyweight resume is chazz Witherspoon and going 8-4 with chisora and beating "a hype job bodybuilder" twice.
Undefeated Gary Cornish? That is priceless. @littlebrain (check this out) Whyte was inexperienced, out of shape and blew his arm out. A decent win but hardly much more. Most on the British forum regard him as British level. Maths Teacher Molina - utterly atrocious and came to lie down. Martin - as above. Bought. ***** Tits Breazeale - utterly useless. Tickling Takam - best win is a 41 or 42 year old Tony Thompson - useless opponent who only gets gigs based on his physique. He was knocked out cold by Chisora ffs. Klitschko - old, inactive, coming off a loss, fighting in Wembley, and had one foot into retirement. Had never seen him gas like that before and he came within inches of victory. Paint Dry Parker - enough to put anyone to sleep - horrendous bout which displayed nothing from either boxer. Povetkin - had just been dropped by ... David Price. Pudding Pulev - was useless when he fought Klitschko about 6 or 7 years prior. Stunk the place out then and did so again. Rice Pudding Jr- a cherry pick gone wrong followed up by a snoozer against an even more morbidly obese version. But... you don't do context. His record is paper thin. Thanks for the laugh, though. The Cornish Pasty part will live long in the memory.
You clearly just have a bone to pick with Joshua. You could tear down anyone's resume like that. If you think it's a weak era fine but to say he didn't fight the best opposition available is just not true. Just throwing out insults at fighters isn't context it's revealing yourself to be a t w a t.
He may take a year off waiting Wilder to get older and Fury and Usyk to eventually quit. Otherwise he has no chance for a title.
