I think it’s bad move. AJ went from winning 2 rounds against Usyk to making most of the rematch competitive with Garcia. I guess in a way it doesn’t really matter at this point since he’s likely on his way out soon anyway.
It was a super bizarre pairing to begin with... And it certainly didn't help that Robert threw him under the bus to save face from the embarrassing loss.
I don't think they were ever the right fit, even if he did display improvements in his last fight. I'm not sure AJ will find someone to manage his personality traits never mind tease out he relevant changes needed. Let's just hope he gets some consistency and find a coach who can mentor and bring out the best in him.
It will just be a new coach coming in to work Angel and AJs new team. It’s like a football manager not being allowed to bring in their own back room staff
He should go with Jonathan Banks. Banks was overjoyed when AJ beat Wlad. Similar to how Sanchez couldn't hold back his own happiness on camera when Canelo got the decision against Golovkin.
Garcia knows what's up The guy was blowing smoke up AJ's butt and bare face lying to him after just 3 rounds in the corner because he's a mental midget with no heart or balls.
His new trainer is stylistically the best trainer for him technically and mindset wise that is the best trainer in the world Derrick James. Makes perfect sense to me.
Well, it depends. He got beat by the same wide margin - 117-111 or 116-112 if you are really, really generous. He did a few things better for sure, but also, Usyk's training camp and the whole ordeal with the war in his home country weren't ideal, to say the least. So while Joshua was probably at the peak of what he can do as a fighter, Usyk was not, and still, the outcome was pretty much the same. That's why Joshua lost it after the match. When Usyk beat him the first time in 2021, he could say to himself "okay, this guy has surprised me, I perhaps wasn't as well prepared as I could have been, but next time it will be different just like it was with Ruiz". But this time it was "I studied this guy, I prepared for him, I have been doing nothing else in these past 11 months but training to beat this him, and he just had a subpar preparation and there is some war or something going on in his country but still, he dominated me and beat all the same. I'll never beat him, will I?"
Huh... I thought Joshua looked good in one round. The one where he looked like he hurt Usyk to the body. Other than that, it was a clinical schooling.
