I've read that Joshua was drug tested three times during his recent training camp. I know that during the fight a doctor is in the ring watching him between rounds yet we have posters saying he was taking drugs between rounds to recover It's mental!
You can never be 100% sure so there is always doubt about everyone. I do however think some people just have stomachs like that, I've seen similar on other people. I think maybe Usain Bolt and Raheem Sterling have something similar and I have even seem similar things on kids I hung around with when I was a kid. Some sportspeople do take PED's but I don't think things like stomach shape, back acne, moobs etc are very good or reliable indicators. I get back acne and have never touched any PED's and plenty of the guys who get caught for taking PED's don't display any of those signs.
Eddie said that Joshua was tested three times largely because the first public words ever spoken by AJ's dad were about steroids...hmm. If he's been tested three times in 1 camp that is very odd and suggests that it isn't just the posters on this forum that are suspicious of his physique and growth. Eddie and UKAD should reveal what he was tested for, the type of testing used and the results. I'd be very interested in his Red Blood Cell count especially in light of his frequent posts regarding "altitude training". I hope he is completely above board and it would do wonders for his reputation and that of boxing as a whole if we had more information regarding his testing as this perceived issue will not go away without it.
Agreed that you can never be 100% and that people have different bodies. It is the change in people's bodies that cause suspicions. Was AJ's gut always so prominent? It has changed quite a lot since before the Olympics. This could be how he has grown of course but looks a bit odd on his body. He clearly works very hard in the gym and if he is not juicing then it would be in his interests to allay suspicion by doing a Chris Froome and releasing all of his data to an independent expert etc. Again this is not just about AJ but all sportsmen should have their data released along with the type and frequency of testing. There is so much money in sport and plenty enough to tackle this issue.
Look at what happened to Paula Radcliffe when her full data was released. People misread it and she was labelled a cheat for a short while until the governing body clarified matters. If full data was available we'd just get the armchair chemists deciding that the "wrong" tests were being done and if only the testers did it the "right" way they would catch the person who is obviously a cheat coz they look funny.
Genuine question Have boxers always used steroids then Do they actually add strength and power Did Bruno use them? Tyson? I've never really heard people talk about steroids in boxing much - thought it was more for bodybuilders and like the cage fighter said for vanity rather than fighting? I remember vaguely people suggesting Sugar Ray Leonard used them to bulk up to face Hagler I've seen Mayweather and Paquiao falling out over drug testing But until now not really seen steroids as being a big part of boxing Are they?
By all accounts Steroid use was far more prevalent in the 80's. I thought that Mike Tyson had admitted to having fake urine and a prosthetic ***** to fool testing. For example he has advised if Jamie Foxx wants to look like him in an upcoming film that he needs to take steroids. He also said if he had his time again he would take HGH like other boxers are now. PEDs help massively with training and reduced recovery times. The shredded cut look is almost an inconvenient tell tall sign.
True, which is why I suggested that an independent panel release the results do that they can state that the elevated red blood cell results on xxxx were due to altitude etc where a slightly higher result is both expected and normal.
Shocking naivety in this thread from the pipe and slippers brigade. atsch Know nothing know alls and wiki warriors happy to pontificate on things they clearly know four fifths of f.uck all about. Funny yet pathetic at the same time. :verysad
So you think he's juicing and it is in everyone's interests to turn a blind eye for commercial reasons? Similar to how Lance Armstrong carried on for years possibly in cahoots with some of the authorities?
For someone that doesn't do weights and just trains boxing and uses bodyweight exercise, you would tone up what muscle you had not put on Nearly 2 stone
I do think his resting 6 pack looks unnatural and his association with team GB who no doubt have the ability to beat the tests does raise alarm bells. So I certainly wouldn't fall of my chair if it turns out he has been juicing... BUT, I think we should stick by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. It's not really fair on AJ to be calling him all these things with no evidence other than some peculiar muscle growth..
