AJ hasn’t beat a top 10 opponent in several years now. It’s laughable to me that people have him ahead of Fury!

After a horrible period of getting beat by Ruiz, the back to back losses to Usyk and the meltdown, his team have done the only thing they could do, get him back active again and in the ring with some very beatable opponents to get his confidence back.

The top heavies is always debatable, but I’m sure Usyk, Fury, AJ, Wilder, Hrgovic, Parker, Joyce, Zhang, Kabayel, Ruiz, Dubois, possibly Whyte etc would be up there. His toughest opponent in the last year is Franklin and he didn’t look very convincing in that one.

In order to fully assess AJ 2.0, we need to see him in there with someone decent.

If you just focus on the last fight, AJ is brilliant and Fury is ****. But it doesn’t really work that way. Big fight mentality is a factor also and Fury is much stronger there

Fury beat Wilder twice. Unless you’re suggesting Wilder is not a top 10… which he is. And certainly was at the time they fought.

Whyte was also mandatory for several years when they fought.

3 bigger wins than anything AJ has managed

Wilder was top 10, but the third fight was almost 3 years ago, which is why I mentioned Fury in my post, as I consider it a bit too long ago. Whyte was a mandatory, but let's be honest, he really didn't deserve it at the time. He beat the corpse of Povetkin and then proceeded to barely beat Joshua's first post Usyk victim, and he hasn't fought since. All 3 of those guys' resumes from the last few years suck.

Wilder is clearly the worst, don't really need to explain. After that you're just comparing Whyte, a shot Chisora, and a controversial win over Ngannou vs Franklin, a shot Helenius, Wallin and a dominant KO over Ngannou. If we don't consider Wilder as too long ago for Fury's standing, I'm taking Fury, but if we do, I'm talking Joshua right now. But both Fury and AJ's recent fights suck, Usyk (assuming the Fury fight happens) and Parker are doing the best work right now.

Joshua has been fed very bearable opponents to try and shore up his confidence. Once he gets cracked on the chin again by a top tier fighter we’ll see how well he has healed mentally. I have my doubts.

Oh another new member with AJ hatred thread, it's getting obvious ....
Also easy. Ngannou smashed Fury and beat him clearly.
AJ just beat the real WBC Champion in 2 rounds.
Also Wallin was top 10 in every single ranking, and number 2 by the IBF.

Whyte was top 10 million years ago.
Fury last 2 fights were against Chisora like 2 years ago, and against Ngannou, which he lost.
And because Ngannou smashed Fury, he was ranked top 10 in the WBC. So you are wrong again.
You get it now, or needs more help?

I thought the same. But Wallin was actually a top ten fighter.

But it's nowhere near as good as what Parker has done in the last year, I agree with that.

AJ v Hrgovic will answer a lot of questions.

Hes fought Ngannou, Wallin, Helenius, Franklin in the last year.

Fury has fought Ngannou, Del Boy and Whyte in the last 2 years.

Wilder has fought Helenius and Parker in the last 18 months. And lost one of those fights.

None of them have been fighting truly elite competition, but at least AJ has been very active and is winning.

The negativity around Fury started when he didn't fight Usyk 2 yrs ago. That was the fight for undisputed. Fury was the reason it didn't happen.

Joshua blasts through Wallin and Ngannou. Parker beating Wilder in a shutout and people see a decline in Fury.

If Fury had of fought and beat Usyk then the talk would have been how Fury is the best HW that's ever existed.

The merits of Joshua 4 fight rebuild is probably being exaggerated, just to make Fury look bad. It all stems back to Fury ducking Usyk.

    Exactly

If Aj has the right style of opponent or he's full of confidence? He will look like Mike Tyson 2.0

Fury is a guy that fights to the level of his opponent on occasion. For crying out loud, he should have a loss to John mcdermott!

He looked absolutely terrible in the 2 fights prior to Wilder 1,yet performed against Wilder. Showed way more bottle and heart in that 12th than Aj has shown in his entire career

He looked bad against Wallin. Many thought that was him finished, he then goes and puts a heavy beatdown on Wilder in arguably a career best performance

Didn't look good in the 3rd Wilder fighter, very sloppy but again showed he could tough it out and still had the heart to carry him through. Aj again would never have the balls to do that. He quit vs an obese Mexican with zero camp when the going got tough

Beat Whyte easier than Joshua and say what you want about chisora, he's also played with him much easier than anyone. How did usyk look vs Chisora?

Absolutely terrible against Ngannou, but again that's Fury in a nutshell. I Don't know for certain if he beats Usyk, but if anyone expects him to turn up like that? They will be very disappointed

To the OP and sensible posters here.
What the Fury haters / AJ fangirls do is make every excuse for AJ and exaggerate his recent wins. For Fury they exaggerate his weaker moments or performances. They apply ridiculous hyperbole like Fury was dropped by a CW (no, he was a small HW and that was over 10 years ago), he lost to an MMA novice (no, he got the decision). Fury's weaker moments from many years ago count, AJs three losses are ancient history and don't count. AJ stopping that MMA novice is some great accomplishment... AJ defeating Wallin exceeds Fury's successful trilogy vs. Wilder, etc. I almost despise Wilder for his absurd excuses, and cringe statements he's made. He has poor boxing fundamentals, but he had one of the best KO rights among modern HWs (which means of all time).

In other words, the AJ grovelers arguments are very BIASED.
AJ has rebounded from his B2B losses to a CW. I think he has a fair chance to defeat Fury, especially if Fury is in a steep decline. However, let's put this in perspective. In his recent run AJ has not shown that he can overcome adversity b/c he hasn't faced any. He's a high end front runner. Let's see what happens when he's in a fight that's not going his way. I'd like to see AJ vs. Parker in a neutral site without the ref in his pocket.

As for Fury, I'll wait when he gets bounced on the canvas 4X and quits against a Jabba the Hutt HW before I write him off :sisi1

As people said Wallin was official top 10.
Also Franklin give near draw fight with Whyte who was long time top 10.
Also Joshua destroy easy Francis Ngannou who almost beat numero uno...

He got very nice time right now. Its almost sad that he cant beat Fury now because Usyk is first in line.
