The negotiations were a fabricated hoax pushed by matchroom fans. They knew he never wanted Fury and Wilder. Although Wilder might be ripe now. 37 years old and inactive. Perfect for Juicua

He's mentally done. He's lost the mongrel that he had in him, and he's not going to get back to that mindset ever again.

If , I mean when, AJ loses to Usyk, all the need and drama goes away like the air out of a pierced balloon with respect to fighting Fury. There would be no need for it, and Fury would rather fight Usyk.

I said for 7 years on here that Usyk would dominate AJ from start to finish, possibly even stop him. Damn... it's a pity I hesitated, stopped short and didn't say he'd swallow his soul.:sisi1

The look on his face when he realizes that his best financial option is Wilder 4.

I honestly don't believe that he wants any part of Usyk. Fury has also given his "near the end" speech, when he recently talked about how the years have been hard and he can't do it till 40.

Wilder has also given his "thinking of retirement" speech and remarkably thinks that a psychedelic drug will give him the answer.

The only guy in the room I have not heard talk about hanging it up is the oldest, smallest and best of the bunch.

There's no scenario where Fury would rather fight Usyk.

Sadly this might turn out to be the case.

I never say any world class fighter has zero chance in any fight, but yes, in all likelihood this is as close to a sure fire bet as is possible to make. Even moreso than a Fury vs Wilder 4 match.

I think what's pushing him is the same mentality that pushed him to get back in against Ruiz. Unfortunately it's the worst possible choice he could make here. Can't question his fighting heart though.

Did you mistakenly type Joshua when you meant to type Wilder? That's the only way that sentence isn't complete shyte.

This really isn't a good take....
Fury had always wanted the AJ fight any which way. as it would be his biggest payday by far and I think he's confident he can win it and it would be a Battle of Britain.
Fury is a lot less keen on a Usyk fight and there's several interviews that back that premise up.
I've said many times that Fury wants Joshua to win the rematch because then he can take that fight and retire either way.
Fury despite the jibber jabber tweets has said in several interviews that he doesn't need to unify because he has already had all the main belts at one time or another. So he's given himself an out. Fury's resume is pretty thin considering there's only two names on it and one of those was overrated and untested so....we will see what happens but I'd be suprised if Fury took Usyk considering how sloppy he looked last time out.

The bodybuilder definitely seems to have lost his speed. It's all that hanging around with Ronnie Coleman, and hanging around the gym giving vitamin pills to kids.

Another case of making too much money too early.

The question really is,why did Joshua even activate the immediate rematch clause with Usyk ? Who is even advising him to go straight back in with Usyk ? Like him or not Joshua has done well for himself even with Matchroom Media hyping him up far more than he could ever be. Joshua with all his commitments/sponsorships/endorsements has been under immense pressure from the first fight and this I’d say is the reason retirement has been mentioned so soon as well as the fact he is mentally beat down imo. Ok the big money coming in without fighting may be great but it’s still an everyday pressure upon himself with obligations having to be made.

The truth about AJ was he had an Adonis body, and looked like a boxing Superman. He was a big muscular guy who everyone who doesn’t know boxing thinks wow that’s what the heavyweight champion should look like…. Truth is , he has a shaky chin and a shaky psyche, and his use of weights greatly interfered with his boxing career. He’s done well for himself financially and seems to have lost the fire to remain in the sport. I think he’s a decent guy and if he calls it a career after the Usyk fight I wish him well.
