So we've got yet another rematch with Whyte, no point in fighting Usyk, Fury might fight Usyk, and Wilder will probably still do what he's always done.

So where does that leave AJ?

    Parker fight would be pointless
    Ruiz fight would be pointless
    Joyce fight won't happen

So who does that leave that realistically can make it happen?

Bottom line he won't fight the top 4 or anybody that carries even punchers chance risk. Close to being irrelevant in the sport.

If he fights Whyte in April and losses he’ll retire, if he wins He probably won’t fight until 2024 most likely vs Wilder.

He’s fought 7 times in the last 4 1/2 years, it doesn’t seem like he has the sort of motivation that we would expect of a champion.

Whyte is still a top HW and makes an interesting fight.

I would like to see AJ take on the likes Joyce, Fury,Hunter, Hrgovic, Bakole and Sanchez.

Provided Whyte can beat Franklin , the history between him and AJ means that it can me hyped to generate enough readies for Joshua to get out of bed .More importantly AJ would be reasonable confident that Whyte is an easier proposition than some of the other opponents needed to generate a big purse.

I'd love AJ to shock us all, do the opposite of what we expect and take a hard fight next, and to win in style.

I think he should take on a tough but winnable fight.

Hrgovic and Bakole would be my two top pics that fit that bill.

For the record despite his confidence issues and the obvious flaws (as if Bakole and Hrgovic don't have plenty of their own....) I would back him to knock both out and make a real statement.

AJ's deal with DAZN is gonna prevent him from taking the confidence building fights he really needs

Washington was perfect for him but how do they sell that as PPV?

But AJ made a meme out him, he's been laid out by an old shot fighter in Povetkin, and Tyson done the same to him in front of 100'000 people... and Whyte doesn't have a belt. Only Matchroom and Whyte think this fight makes sense.

The Joshua comeback smacks of a David Price type comeback - once exposed the defeats keep piling up.

I'd go down the route of just making AJ fights spectacles now, rather than a world title rebuild.

Have him in the birds nest in China against Zhang, have him in Nigeria against Joyce.

Give him 3 more fights and make as much money as possible, he's had a really well worked out career that's led him to levels that outweigh his talent in my opinion, which a lot will disagree with maybe.

It's clear to me his management and promoter aren't convinced he beats the top, top guys anymore.

It was so obvious they were going for the Whyte cash out next.

His only fight of 2023, as he has fought once per year now for 3 years in a row.

Who can care about a part time boxer?

If he does fight again in 2024, it will be another very low risk fight that they have calculated allows him to do another similar fight in 2025.
