In AJs last 2 fights 168000 tickets have sold. The man is the unified WBA and IBF champ (plus IBO) he is Olympic gold medalist and has 20 straight knockouts. Every 20 years we get a heavyweight come through that lights up the scene and for us its AJ. Since Tyson/ Lewis etc people have moaned how drab the heavyweight scene was and now we have AJ and all you seem to hear is moans. Today was a mandatory fight, he has done this now he can go on to fight for a big unification next year, do people really think that any of his fights are going to be on sky? For me he is the only PPV star in UK right now. Eubank Jr PPV and Groves Cox PPV is what is hurting the sport. True boxing fans seem to hate when boxing casuals jump on the hype like they are losing there sport, but its the casuals that make the big memorable nights. I did think tonight that other than Taylor the fights were poor, yafai boxed well but entertainment factor was non existant, buglioni fight no surprise went distance and whyte lacks the knockout power. Eddie Hearn has not put on the best show tonight but you still back him over other promoters going forward? Everyone's thoughts?
I think you all moan too much about PPV, you have it good. In NZ we had to 40 bucks to watch Parker vs Cojanu as well as 40 bucks for every Sonny Bill fight. Christopher Livingstone Eubank Jr is the best value for money of any ppv fighter in the world, he is a pure showman. AJ is rubbish to watch compared with Young Christopher
Had around 20 people round mine. Lots of booze and food. Was a great night. Thats what the market is.
