Dubois v Bakole should be next - the champion needs a live test and big Martin would provide it. Too many crap rematches over the years for British level Whyte and Joshua types. Give new hungry challengers a shot I say.
Joshua only knocks out small and/or old men - even Joey 12, Takam, Spud Ruiz TWICE and Franklin took his girlie power before Usyk strolled through 24 rounds then DDD walked right through his power while sending him to the canvas numerous times. Agree Joshus deserves no shot and it is a disgrace that other live contenders are not getting their chance. The Humble Dice has been rolled and landed on double 6 visits to the canvas.
Pointless rematch as big DDD will simply KTFO Journeyman Joshua again but earlier. Journeyman Joshua should stick to his bread and butter fights such as Whyte 2, OAP Chisora or Hughie 'Le Skirt' Fury.
Joshua has been great for boxing in the same way Justin beeber has been great for music. Brand AJ has been a commercial juggernaut for boxing in the same way perpetual war is a commercial juggernaut for the US economy. Outside of the ring the AJ brand packaging was world class, the best I’ve ever seen. They created this mythical boxer who beats everyone he faces and who the rest are terrified of facing, they gave him lines to read and put him in carefully scripted media placements to put a shiny bow onto the packaging. his carefully handpicked opponents and the relentless power of media repetition ensured the unbeatable myth was maintained outside of the ring. meanwhile inside the ring he failed to face the two top dogs of his era, got busted up twice by a feather fisted cruiser, QUIT against a little fatty on his first venture outside of his home comforts, went life and death with a shot to bits 41y/o 18 months retired old legend, and KOd a 0-1 wrestler. he was fed a diet of shot to pieces old names, the only champs he beat were Joey twelve Parker (his career standout win by far) Charles Martin (paper champ) and Ruiz the obese grinning Mexican who already KOd him first (and who he then DUCKED giving the trilogy fight to) he faced one prime banger his entire career in DDD and got pancaked in five rounds after going 0-7 down in the first four rounds. it’s the outside of the ring disconnect between truth and reality which has made it difficult to follow the circus around AJ as to anyone who has watched the HW division for a few years it’s been clear from day one he’s a straight up and down no special effects robotic fighter with a glass jaw and a glass heart. He has always been a flat track bully who loves teeing off on shot to pieces old men then throws his belt out of the ring when he gets sonned by a cruiserweight. Also: stadium boxing is not “good for boxing”, as the promoters have told you to believe - in reality it’s a terrible way to watch two men fighting stood on the centre circle of a giant football stadium, you end up watching the giant telly and paying hundreds for the privilege. Real talk for those who have ears to hear.
That makes no sense - AJ was the ultimate baby face (to use the old wrestling terms) his entire career was scripted in and out of the ring, the only time he turned heel was when he short circuited his own programming a couple of times with the racist tweets and the belt chucking antics he’s never been sold as a heel
One of the greatest posts I have ever read. Truth from start to finish. I would add that beating Parker, who at that time was nicknamed by the boxing world as Paint Dry Parker, isn’t an impressive win whatsoever given that Parker didn’t throw a punch and this is the same man that was in such grave condition following an obliteration by Jobey Joyce that I was frankly worried for his health, before I remembered his business dealings outside of the ring. Parker’s face looked the same at the end to how he started. It was turd. Joshua was always a flat-track bully, as you say. A boxer who’d beat the dross of the division and look good in doing so. Feasted on little and old men like Wladimir Klitschko did in his long reign. Credit for beating them, but perspective tells that the bloke is nowhere near as good as hyped up to be. I believe Joshua is of Nigerian descent so he will always get additional backing from certain demographics in the same way a Scotsman would or a Liverpudlian. People don’t like to hear that and try their best to take offence to it but it’s basic market segmentation. You’re not going to find many Brixtonians supporting Fury in a contest between the two. These dunderheads who take offence to that will have no issue saying Fury gets the travellers’ support. Joshua as a brand seems to appeal to absolute thickos and these dipshites can’t hack a bit of stick when he’s exposed. Makes me crack up.
He has been alone in a Dark Room for 10 days now and refusing to answer the door even when Eggie Hearn knocks three times per day.
Suspect it's waiting for a Riyadh Season date. We've had our fun with the Wembley date, now it's winter it'll have to go to Saudi. My bet's roughly the same time of year as the Joshua-Ngannou card this year.
