Why don't you tell us seeing as you were the one who started the thread and bought up that Joshua is taking the rematch.
The prospect of an immediate Dubois-Joshua rematch reminds me of David Haye v Audley Harrison. Everyone knew Audley did not stand a chance, everyone knew he'd done NOTHING to earn the shot, but the mismatch went ahead and attracted viewers because Audley still had that name recogntion.
Eh? Haye and Harrison only fought once though, not sure that makes much sense. Surely something like Haye fighting Bellew again after he was fairly comprehensively beaten first time round is more similar to this. Or even the third Fury v Wilder fight when Fury was so dominant in the second.
You are correct. But Haye and Harrison came to mind, for some reason. To be fair to Wilder, he kind of proved us wrong in the 3rd fight. He was way more competitive than expected.
With the exception of the rematch that never happened your post is fair and balanced. Joshua done next to nothing to achieve a shot for DDD's newly awarded IBF title in the first place having fought 3 stiffs since a genuine elite Champion found him out over 3 years ago. The rematch clause for an ex paper World Champion Joshua more than 3 years ago is even more disgraceful.
Wilder v Fury 3 was the best fight in the era by a mile. Great fight and certainly had boxing fans on the edge of seats. That was Wilder's last stand and he left the ring passing the warriors code with flying colours - gave everything he had.
