Joshua isn't going to try to walk through Usyk. He's not dumb. He's going to keep tall, jab, try to close Usyk into the corner then go to work with combos and look to tie up straight after. He'll also be on the lookout to make Usyk overcommit then counter him. It'll be cagey stuff from the champion. Usyk is going to be feinting and trying to draw those very counters from Joshua, varying height on shots, changing angles of attack and generally trying to exert mental pressure on Joshua to get him out of his rhythm and start to tire him before turning up the heat. Again, probably quite cagey stuff early on.

If there's any early knockdowns or big moments they'll likely come from Joshua catching Usyk with something while Usyk is still warming up and trying to probe for openings. That might result in a bit of scrambling and backpedalling from Usyk for a round or two and some wildly enthusiastic biased British commentary and cheering morons in the crowd, but I doubt it'll be something he won't get over. I'd also be sceptical how enthusiastically Joshua would follow up on it, knowing how badly he came unstuck against Ruiz.

I think Joshua's gameplan will be to bank the early to mid rounds and get enough big moments to keep Usyk a bit honest and slow his adapting, then ride out the last few rounds with lots of clinching and wrestling and trust to the judges to give him the decision. An early knockout isn't beyond the realms of possibility, but it'd be highly risky against an opponent who's never been stopped before and known for coming on strong late in the fight. But there have been some horrible British stoppages in recent years, so I hope nothing like that has been cooked up beforehand, Joshua stunning Usyk then the ref jumping in while Usyk is still fighting back. I'd cease to become a fan of his if that's on the cards.

True, I accidently bumped the thread.

But hey this is what I thought 6 months ago, so we'll see.

I expect AJ to come and box. As Fury says AJ probably hasn't got the bottle to use his size advantage and go after Usyk. We'll see how it works out.

He didn't have Joshua in trouble. There was a head clash when Parker went in a bit low with his head and then Parker followed that up with a left hook, but Joshua wasn't in trouble and the ref came in between because of the head clash and Parker's head coming in a bit low. It had no bearing on anything, this talk is just grabbing whatever branch you have.

Parker never threatened Joshua and just let Joshua win rounds behind his jab. The ref was overly involved in some instances and that was a shame, but there's no reason to believe that helped Joshua who's the much better puncher and mid range fighter.

if aj comes out and bullies usyk he should win, i hope Usyk came to fight and lay it down because if he does he could potentially **** him up.

I'm sick of little fat men and cruiserweights ruining Fury's chance to be the one to spank AJ

Fury can still have what's left after Usyk knocks Joshua out in their rematch and Hearn wishes to cash Joshua out.
