No denying his resume lacks depth compared to Joshua. That's where you have to respect Joshua, after becoming champion he didn't do what Wilder did and hide in the US fighting other fighters in his promoters stable he tried to unify and become undisputed he doesn't lack for ambition, he isn't in this simply to cash in and be famous he genuinely wants to go from greatness.

Fury in contrast never had the opportunity as after beating Wlad he mentally just folded and lost all direction and then was banned for the doping violation. But when coming back he did what he should of done when he was champion and went for the one belt he didn't have and beat Wilder, he literally picked up his career where he left it after a couple of comeback fights.

I'm just glad now we have two champions who won't run or hide or turn down $100 million plus paydays and we actually get to see the titles unified again and get the first undisputed champion since Lewis or at least I hope that's what happens.

    Decent analysis.

At the end of the day its a good victory. No one is saying it proves he beats Ali or Lewis prime for prime. Heck they aren't even saying it's improved his chances against Fury.

I do feel AJ has improved since Ruiz beat him from pillar to post. Some say hes overly cautious now, well he hasn't regressed to Parker levels of being gun shy so he can still bang when required.

    Roll on Fury Joshua 2021!

I was only commenting on the resume / record. Not who beats who or think is the best. I love Fury to bits but even as a big fan have to acknowledge he doesn’t have a great list of victories. Shocked the world with Vlad but then took a long time off before the Wilder fights. Pre Vlad there’s not many names and got messed about by Haye. Joshua does have a good resume in that he seems to have fought most of the top guys he could have done and hasn’t avoided people. Fury wasn’t around so you’re only left with Wilder and don’t think it’s bull**** that it was a difficult fight to make

People's expectations of Joshua are just a lot lower now since the Ruiz debacle. He's as good as old Wlad. But no match for Fury. Him and his team know it.

No disrespect to AJ but Tyson Fury has the better resume. First and foremost: Fury has now dethroned 2 long reigning World Champions in Klitchko and Wilder. What AJ fight so far has been of such stature? He still has Klitchko as the biggest name in his record but do not forget he fought him 2 years after Fury and on home soil!!! . Tyson Fury is a 2 time world champion and he won his titles against Klitchko in Germany and Wilder in the US. AJ won his 2 time heavyweight championships against Charles Martin (shortest reigning champion of all time) and Andy Ruiz . AJ also failed to defend his titles when he first defended them ABROAD and suffered a heavy LOSS at the hands of Ruiz.
How is that a better resumee? The biggest challenge for these 2 british boxers was Wilder. Fury fought him twice and AJ DUCKED him.
    No more to say!

He’s got the deepest resume on paper but the truth is povetkin and Pulev were old by the time he got them. The younger lads he’s boxed are joe Parker, Charles Martin and a green dillian whyte. Let’s not pretend it’s all time great levels. He will be judged legacy wise on the fury fight

Fair enough but when you say Fury’s resume is better you’re basically choosing two fights rather than run through the resumes. I’m a Fury fan and will be cheering him on against Joshua but not too fussed about leaping to his defence as it’s a shallow resume. Lots of people are now saying Wilder is and was **** after Fury schooled him yet holding him up as his best win

It’s not even important though as Fury is far better now than he was. You can improve. It’s his best quality as learns from previous fighters being an intelligent boxer

He can discuss and dissect what happened before in detail. Knows he ****ed up against isnt Cunnigham despite the victory and wouldn’t make the same mistakes after

I’ll was not him to win against Joshua and be cheering for him but not going to say he’s easily going to win like his new fans. Wouldn’t be surprised if Joshua knocks him out. Points win no chance unless Hearn fixed it

Didn't Wilder come out stating he was offered the Joshua fight for more money than the one with Fury?

It’s like a football forum here where you have to be one eyed. Fury has two (or three if you include Wilder 1) amazing performances to point to on away soil. Pretty much nothing else on the resume. But of course the most recent is also the most relevant and no point in bashing him with the fight number 2 or 6 over 10 years ago. Was kind of sticking up for AJ. The kudos of the Wilder win may go up or down depending on what he does afterwards but will always still be great talking into account the circumstances at the time, being away from home and the away fighter etc

Don’t believe anything Wilder says about possible fights and negs as csnt know the real story himself and listening to his team. Just could be fed a bit of bull**** himself from this manager . Don’t think he’s bottler but has terrible promotion. Might be too generous though. I really just don’t know and am following gossip. Such is boxing. Wilder seems straight up as a G but perhaps I’m naive

His resume is decent but let's put it in context ......

    OLD MEN:
    41 year old Klitschko
    39 year old Pulev
    39 year old Povetkin

GETTING OLD (and was never solid top 10 ever) :
    36 year old Takam

    NOT OLD:
    27 year old Whyte
    26 year old Parker
    29 / 30 year old Ruiz

...... old men make up a large part of this "best wins" but people still talk up his resume.
Whyte, Parker and Ruiz are the only decent guys he beat who weren't old. But he needed two attempts at Ruiz, (was beaten up badly by him in their first fight) and failed to come close to KOing Ruiz or Parker.
I have my doubts Parker, Whyte or Ruiz will be remembered as excellent fighters a few years from now.
