    100% the bolded part.

It’s laughable. We as fans should be screaming for Juicesha and Hearn to just give Wilder as much as possible so we can actually see the fight.

Seeing Juicesha fans justify the lowball offers is so pathetic - we are not making any money here, our only interest is in seeing the fight. Why on earth would anyone here try to justify a bad split for Wilder? What do you get out of it?

Seeing fans on here argue about splits and purses is so pathetic. It’s not like football where you argue about transfer fees because it affects the clubs we support. Why would we care how much Juicesha makes?

    So pathetic.

That's just one side of it though. On the flip side we could say Wilder shouldn't be so greedy and ask for more than he'd ever make fighting anyone else and just give the fans the fight they want by accepting whatever Hearn offers. I mean why would we care what Wilder makes?

I wouldn't expect Wilder to accept this first offer as it's obviously a low ball offer to begin negotiations, just like I didn't expect Hearn and Joshua to accept Widler's initial unrealistic demand of 50/50.

In an ideal world they'd just agree to fight at a reasonable split and we wouldn't get all this bull**** posturing in negotiations to squeeze out every little percent in the favour of their fighter, but it's the real world, 1 percent in this fight could be several hundred thousand dollars if not a million dollars. When you have sums like this being on the table it's rarely a quick and easy deal.

What I'm really sick of is fans on both sides calling a duck for every little piece of info that comes out surrounding this negotiation. The Joshua/Parker deal was drawn out affair and I expect this to be too.

I'm just glad they are actually negotiating and not just calling each other out and talking about making offers and someone actually did make an offer.

I agree but the jist of the point I’m making is that seeing fans vehemently argue that one fighter is right to make a particular offer is sad.

As a Wilder fan the only reason why I want Hearn to make a reasonable offer is because it increases the likelihood of the fight being made. I couldn’t give a **** what Wilder actually makes, it has nothing to do with me.

It seems though for other fans on here they are happy for the fight to fall through so that Joshua doesn’t give up so much of his purse. Pathetic.

I don't necessarily think they are happy for the fight to fall through. But they understand that boxing is a business first and foremost. If Wilder prices himself out then it's not really Hearn's fault if he is unable to meet his demands to secure the fight and some fans understand that and won't blame Hearn if that happens.

During the Parker negotiations it was said by Hearn that Joshua refused to give Parker 40%. Had Higgins and Parker stuck with their 40% demand the fight would of never happened. Hearn could not offer the 40% they wanted as Joshua would of refused the fight.

I doubt Joshua will willingly give Wilder 40% either. While he clearly wants to unify there is a line he won't cross when it comes to money. Joshua talks about legacy and making great fights but lets be real he cares about the money as much as any fighter does and he won't be fleeced by Wilder or anyone else just because they have something he wants.

You seem mightily concerned with how much Wilder makes.

Ok so bearing all that in mind, please explain why Hearn offered Charles Martin a £3.5m guarantee (source: The Times, this was widely reported and not denied by Eddie) to come over and box Joshua? Why was Joshua prepared to give this absolute nobody who no casual fan had ever heard of, with zero profile and who won the title because his opponent suffered an injury a massive payday but not Wilder?

I’ll tell you: because he knew Martin was a walkover. They won’t do the same with Wilder because they are terrified and are pricing themselves out. Unlike Martin, Wilder would come and throw bombs and spark that fraud senseless.

It’s total hypocrisy to justify Joshua lowballing Wilder when he highballed Martin to a ridiculous extent.

So he should devalue himself because he never had a mega fight before? Thats a ridiculous stance to take.
He's involved in making this mega fight and is worth is 40% whether its a £50m fight or a £500m fight.

If Floyd was only prepared to pay MaGregor UFC money the fight would never have been made. Did you hear Floyd telling Gregor he didn't deserve his 100 mil because his highest paychecks to date were just one million?

I couldn’t give a **** what Wilder makes. So long as we see the fight and see both boxers go home safe after I don’t care who makes what.

Nobody will be able to refute or justify this point. In Juicesha fans’ minds it’s apparently acceptable to highball a chump in order to take his belt but lowball a genuine threat and genuine world champion. That is the epitome of cowardice.

    Once again completely different situations.

Firstly Mcgregor was a proven PPV draw. The biggest active draw in combat sports the time. It's not like Mcgregor had no history of selling out arenas and selling over 1 mil PPV buys on numerous occasions. That happened so of course Mcgregor had negotiating power. 4 times Mcgregor sold over 1 mil PPV buys. Do you think if he wasn't such a draw he would of got paid as well as did vs Floyd? Of course not!!

Secondly Mcgregor was not making $1 mil. That may of been the recorded purse but his been making a lot more than in the UFC well before the Mayweather fight.

I actually think he paid him more than that to be honest.

But it's a totally different situation. Joshua had no belt then he had to overpay Martin to secure his first title. People were lining up to fight Martin who saw him as an easy way to a belt. Wilder and Parker had both tried to make fights with Martin. Nobody is knocking on Wilder's door to pay him well other than Joshua and Whyte and he's already refused to fight Whyte.

Joshua now has more belts than Wilder, he is also a far bigger draw now. He needed the belt from Martin to increase his marketability to make more, that isn't the case with the Wilder fight. Whether Joshua fights Wilder or not he's still the biggest draw at heavyweight and still makes 15-20 mill per fight and still has options for big money fights with Fury, Povetkin and perhaps even Haye if Haye beats Bellew.

I don't know, maybe because the lower payday Joshua took from fighting Martin was well worth it as it would lead to the bigger paydays afterwards. There was a risk worth taking as AJ and Matchroom knew what it would lead too.

In 2018 AJ isn't the AJ hat fought Martin. His now the one who is making £15 mil minimum per fight, has commercial sponsors all wanting a slice of Brand AJ, is selling out stadiums.

To try and compare the two is futile as they were in different periods of his career.

AJ not fighting Wilder in 2018 doesn't kill his drawing power.

Nope sorry not buying either of those justifications. Apparently because Wilder’s biggest payday was £2.5m he doesn’t deserve a 30/40%...

Martin’s average payday was probably sub-$50k before he came over to the UK, but it’s ok to pay him £3-5m just to take his belt.

How would he be devaluing himself if he took less than 40%. 10% of a 50 mill fight would still be more than double what he's been paid before. This first low ball offer is 7.1 times more than he's ever made, if he accepts what Parker did for a 50 mill fight that's 16.5 mill, that's almost 8 times what Wilder has been paid before. If anything even this low ball first offer is inflating Wilder's actual worth not devaluing it.

Yes if Mayweather offered Conor UFC money that fight wouldn't of been made, but Joshua isn't offering Wilder what he normally makes like in your example, he's offering him many times more than he'll ever make fighting anyone else.
