If Joshua beats Povetkin, it'll be the same thing again......Look at the current WBC rankings. 1 .- Dillian Whyte (Jamaica/GB) SILVER 2 .- Dominic Breazeale (US) 3 .- Luis Ortiz (Cuba) 4 .- Alexander Povetkin (Russia) 5 .- Kubrat Pulev (Bulgaria) Joshua will have beaten the Number 1,2,4 and ducked by 5. If the Ortiz fight 'increases' Wilder's stock....... What the hell does Klitschko/Parker/Whyte/Breazeale/Povetkin etc do for Joshua's.
Wilder has never asked for 40%. He asked for a split and then the exact reverse in a rematch to apply to Joshua if Wilder wins. That is totally fair. It’s 50/50 over two fights only if Wilder wins. Technically it may be worse than 50/50 for Wilder if the first fight grosses more.
Wilder is on record (his last IFL interview before AJ-Parker) saying that he would accept 10/90 if the reverse was applied in a rematch if he wins. Now that is probably bravado and his handlers would obviously never agree to that. But he seems pretty adamant on this reverse split stipulation and is clearly ready to accept less than 50%. He is on record saying this. Now the reports are that Hearn has offered a flat fee, directly going against Wilder’s split request. Why do you think he made a flat fee offer? Because Hearn is trying to force a refusal from Wilder’s team. He doesn’t want the fight.
Yeah, I don't see how anyone could say that isn't fair. If Hearn and AJ were confident they'd make that deal. They could get Wilder really cheap, and unless he wins, they could argue for the same deal if he agrees to rematch, which he probably wouldn't bother.
Exactly, Also throw in the mix that AJ holds 3 world title and Wilder holds 1, AJ has fought in two unification fights and Wilder has fought 0. Whatever way they try and spin this it doesn't look good for Wilder, 12 million is a great offer with all things considered. Like I said last night, AJ can fight Povetkin next and earn 15-20 million and Wilder can go and fight Breazeale for 1-2 million. It really is that simple, Wilder won't earn that sort of money anywhere else.
No idea who this guy is....but he's an American, self proclaimed Wilder 'lover', but an incredibly articulate and level headed individual. The original article where Wilder was demanding 50/50 cannot be linked, but you can find it easily enough in the above link.
Drawing power you come into play and how much revenue the said fighter brings to the table. Dentoy Wilder isn't a draw!!! FFS the guy has had 40 fights and Showtime still don't believe he is a PPV fighter.
Then why try and make the fight at all? Just get on and take care of your mandatory challenge instead.
Because AJ as he has already proven wants to become undisputed champion. Wilder would be well compensated for that fight just like Parker was. The offer made to Wilder is a first offer which simply reflects the status of both fighters. One is a 3 x belt holder and one of the biggest draws in all of Sports. The other is a 1 x belt holder who isn't even a huge star in his own city. That's just the reality of the situation and the purses should reflect that.

Anyone being subjective can see that. There is not one person on site, if they were handling a fighter's interests that would accept an offer like that in the same position and leave money on the table. This isn't a case of not accepting his lot of being the B-side, Wilder and his team already understand that. B-side doesn't mean to just accept BS.
