That shot old VLAD who hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2014? The guy who never fought again? Fury schooled the legacy straight out of VLAD, guy was a busted flush after that fight. That the chinny robot went life and death with the shell of that old dog says everything about AJs level and not much else
@Unforgiven - do you think it was a physically improved AJ versus Parker or a tactically most astute version? He admitted to being overly cautious as they didn't want to blow the Wilder fight. @Dragon Punch - Lennox Lewis didn't turn into Lennox Lewis until he switched to the Steward camp after being Ktfo. I'm wondering if McCracken is the perfect fit or just a safe option.
Mc Cracken has produced the heavy weight champion of the world who is constantly defending his tiltles How can anybody question his methods When are people going to grasp the concept that this is the boxing meca of the world now Most defiantly at Heavyweight ! AJ trained by Mc Cracken Whyte Trained by Tibbs Fury trained by Ben Davison (dont know much about him !) I dont see too much coming out the US now !
McCracken is an excellent trainer. Booth might give Joshua more variety but don't think their personalities would gel. Imagine what Penfold would do with Joshua and then be thankful he has a top class trainer.
Give me Whyte again above all not named Wilder. He's young, hungry, tough and don't give AF when it gets tough, he'll go down throwing. Fury aint up to it YET, maybe in the future, Pov is small and old, Ortiz ??? Who else is there really ??? I'd love Whyte again with what's on offer
I’ve shared the gym with AJ the last two weeks and will be for the next two also along with martin bakole, I’m pissing myself by some comments on here that AJ is not as good or too muscle bound, what a load of shire, I will tell you what he is at present the best heavyweight in the world
@billy nelson - would I be right in thinking Rob’s approach to pad work is simply pragmatic? Getting AJ to pick and time the 2-3 punch combos he uses in sparring etc, oppose to the elaborate 15-20 punch combos you see other fighters/trainers rattling off?
This content is protected Credit where it’s due, I’m willing to retract my OP about AJ’s lack of progression. I thought today’s session showed some of the best movement, hand speed and sharpness so far by AJ
It doesn't really matter. He'd blast Povetkin out with or without a trainer at all. There's no-one out there to touch him right now. Don't give me Wilder, AJ would absolutely demolish him. Fury is the only man on the planet with the skills that can beat AJ, but he needs to be superfit and avoid taking big punches for 12 rounds.
Of course you would otherwise your behind is out of the door quicker than you can blink if you don't do your fair share of arse licking.
