Parker's lone win over Takam is better than anything AJ has done despite being a 'champion'. AJ is being coddled for a reason.
Joshua and Hearn were looking to fight Takam to earn a mandatory shot at Martin but that changed when Martin agreed to make a voluntary defence against Joshua. So it's not like they are not willing to take risks if the reward is worth it. But he is being protected to a certain degree by Hearn, Joshua is a big draw already and so they have a lot to lose which is making them cautious which is a real shame because it clear Joshua is far better than anyone he's stepped in the ring with so far. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...os-takam-ibf-world-title-eliminator-discussed
I think they'll go for some tune up bum before Parker. One name I'd say is likely is Malik Scuba Scott.
Joshua team are doing the right thing. Breazeale was the perfect opponent for a guy with 16 fights, not sure who Joshua is supposed to fight that would make everyone happy. These fights will happen, not to bad for a hype job.
Good. Getting sick of people not being ready, things marinating, time not right and all this nonsense that's taken a hold of the sport. Just fight and the one who loses doesn't get forced in to retirement, their career carries on and if they are good enough their time will come again
I think this has to happen in November then, Hearn wants the November date and Parker seems happy to do it. So make it happen :yep
They have been on a collision course for some time and I am looking forward to the collision. Pretty even fight imo.
I don't mind one bit if AJ is forced to fight Parker by Jan..they're both of similar level of pro experience. Parker has more rounds in the bank as he's clearly not been able to despatch his cans as quick as AJ did his cans. Takam is a good win...his only one so far but he struggled a bit at times and showed flaws. We can say similar of AJ with Whyte and Breazeale....so on paper this is a good match up. I'll pick AJ to carry on his KO streak...but like his last fight will go a few rounds to get it now he's up in the levels. An alternative that would probably be allowed by the IBF would be a unification fight - though I doubt this will happen. Wilder can be ready by nov/December - and with the winner having to face Parker next! Hearn may try that option though that is a big risk - but for big reward. Odds remain that Parker will be the next dancing partner for AJ though.
Why would Hearn or Joshua try and duck an easy nights work? Parker doesn't even last as long as Brezeale did.
AJ was not happy with the brezeale fight you could tell post fight he was disappointed that he was unable to blast him out, hense the whole i need a rest thing. I think he will have some genuine concerns facing parker he knows he can't just rely on going in to bulldozer people at this level. That said i think he ko's parker but i think he will have some real nerves going into this fight.
