Pulev isn't much cop at all. Joshua should make light work of him. The one thing Pulev has going for him is his clinch. He'll clinch a lot, but that won't be enough to beat Joshua who is faster and much stronger. Still, it isn't Joshua's fault he has to fight Pulev. Mandatories are mandatories.
Personally looking forward to the fight... More so the undercard, match room always have a massive undercard on AJ fights which makes a great night of boxing... Pulev will be decent but can't see how he will withstand AJ speed and power. You know AJ will win because Eddie hearn tried to get this fight before Molina which says everything really. Very little risk
Pulev's Jab is pretty good, he beat Chisora pretty easily so he would probably make the top 10 in the division, problem is, it's only the top 3 or 4 Heavyweights (I include Fury in that) who would have a chance to beat AJ, the rest of the division is easy work for AJ, it's a shame the division doesn't have more depth to it.
I expect Joshua to feel him out for 3-4 rounds then step up the intensity and floor him. However, he's going to have to be careful that he doesn't cop a big shot. AJ hasn't got a steel chin, yes he can get back up off the canvas and recover but he's been wobbled by Whyte and almost taken out by Klitschko. Them big muscles need plenty of fuel to keep them running so he's going to have to pace himself.
Basically Pulev will put up a fight for a few rounds and then get KOd. He's not a bad fighter but we all know how this is going to go
Pulevs terrible imo. I d actually have given molina a better chance to beat joshua. He at least had a half decent shot on him that gave him that slim fighting chance. Pulev no chance tho. Think klitchko had him down almost out about a minute into their fight...knocked him down twice in the first. Once again in the fourth then finished it in the fifth. Pretty much just beat him up for 5 rounds. Pulev showed that night he cant compete at the top level. Reactions too slow. Can only box to a reasonable standard against middle of the road guys. No real strength for his size. Blows heavy early. Overrated boxing skills. Slow. Another guy that does very little well. Obviously in terms of the top level that is. The only guys that have any sort of chance against joshua is fury, wilder, ortiz, haye, parker, whyte and anyone with decent size with a big punch. The boy that breazeale beat recently would give joshua a fight. The best wont necessarily give joshua the hardest fight. But guys with certain attributes. Pulevs not one of them.
Pulev can box mate. He was a decent amateur too. He works behind that jab. He's got enough power to spark any heavyweight in the right moment but he's a boxer more than a puncher. You have to bear in mind that that was prime Klitschko he fought that night. He is of a much higher standard than the Molina's and Breazeale's of this world. I think Joshua's too big and fast for him though.
I ll take your word for it mate. Always been a guy that went under the radar for me...always heard his name through the years but the first time i really seen him fight was klitchko. And think i caught the chisora fight. Watched his fight against samual peters the other night then the klitchko fight again. Tbh not impressed although hes a better all round fighter of molina and breazeale for me hes actually less of a threat to joshua than these two guys we,re. Molina and breazeale actually have half decent ko records think breazeales 16 in 18. Molinas is pretty decent as well. Albeit probably at a lower level than guys pulevs fought. But the threat was still there. I honestly cant see pulev doing anything with joshua apart from getting banged about the ring. I agree he can box but only against a certain level of opponent by the looks of it. Guys that are slow or chisora thats short armed. But with what i ve seen he ticks pretty much zero boxes that would be able to compete with joshua. Heres hoping he puts up a fight tho. It is heavyweight boxing afterall. Not really joshuas fault...its a mandatory afterall.
Pudding Pulev is zero threat and brings zero excitement to this fight - just look back at his pathetic win in Hamburg against an out of shape and unmotivated Dull Boy Pakora
It says everything that Eddie hearn chased this fight 12 months ago! Clearly saw it as low risk back then and since that time AJ has beat Molina and Klitschko so will be even better im personally be cited by the next 3 fight plan if it comes through...
