AJ is willing to fight Fury for a $75 million cheque but the evidence suggests to me that if he could get the money via a safer means, he would jump at the chance. I expect AJ has been training hard since he beat Pulev because he feels he needs every advantage he can get. Fury has always made contradictory statements about money: this could be attributed to bipolar disorder or that he does care a lot about money but sometimes feels it's unwise to stress that. It isn't new with Fury: one minute he's pro-Palestine, the next minute he's shilling for Israel. Joshua is probably feeling a mix of emotions right now, torn between anger of being denied the biggest paycheque of all time with relief in not having to fight Fury along with mild apprehension with having to face Usyk instead in a few months, who is likely to be sterner opposition than almost all of AJ's previous opponents. It isn't worth Fury paying Wilder $20 million (two thirds of his current net worth and over a quarter of his Suadi purse) to step aside when he can smash him again, send him into retirement and get some activity under his belt. Trying to get $20 million from Arum (who is far richer) is like getting blood from a stone and Arum (who is far more intelligent than his competitor Hearn) must surely enjoy the idea of messing Eddie and AJ around.
Ok, well sure. All i believe is that Aj definitely wants to fight Fury. He's been trying to for a while
This just makes AJ look stupid. He should've been aware of the Wilder arbitration issue before **** hit the fan. Now he's just exposing himself as a brainless oaf who needs his paymasters to handle the business end.
AJ turning into a killer but literally ran from a morbidly obese Mexican who was just put on his arse by an over the hill Mexican...... When Fury dissects him the melt down is going to be epic.
No one serious genuinely thinks these guys are scared of each other. Only morons. Even if they lose they’re still going to receive enormous sums of money. The whole idea they’re ‘scared’ of each other is just something that gets idiots titilated - just a myth in reality.
I can't even keep up with all the conspiracy theories and accusations. From what I can see, the thing is simple and clear cut. Fury has to fight Wilder, and will probably fight him in July or August. It's exactly the same as 1 year ago. I'm not sure what all this blaming Fury or Wilder or whoever is all about. It's just the ruling of the arbitration concerning the contract. We all knew Wilder triggered the rematch almost as soon as he was defeated last time. Yes, we all hoped Fury would be clear to face AJ, but it turns out that isn't the case. It's not a conspiracy. It's the same contract we all knew about from well over a year ago. So why all the whining and other nonsense ??
Joshua's reputation is ruined since Ruiz, he can't give it the big I am anymore.. he was flattened by butterbeans morbidly obese Mexican nephew. Then ran from him.. yes ran from a guy that can barely climb stairs.. for 12 rounds.. pathetic ****.
Because people get really emotionally invested in the narrative. It’s exactly the same reason why people LOVE the idea of Boxer X being ‘scared’ of Boxer Y. People get stupidly emotionally invested in the outcome of the fight - you can see it with posters on here. The true story - as you’ve spelt out above - is far less exciting. Not much for people to get over excited about.
"Ran" meaning he was so superior that he could beat him with one arm tied behind his back? Wladmir beat many opponents with his jab and didn't commit for the exact same reason. Because he didn't have the best chin, and taking risk unnecessarily just to get the KO for your ego is stupid. Better fighters have lost to lesser opposition. Joshua had a bad night. 9/10 he wins against Ruiz in UD. No where in the rules does it say you have to KO every opponent. Joshua has, easily, the most impressive record out of the top 3. Besides Wladmir and Wilder, Fury has fought no one above the level of Chisora.
