Usyk is better and faster than all of AJ`s previous opponents.

You're assuming he's going to be able to produce his CW level speed, 3 years older and 30lbs heavier, after injuries and being inactive for large periods of time?

Chisora landed, and if Chisora can land so can AJ. AJ's hand speed is quick for a big man.

And also Usyk still has to prove himself at this level. He beat Chisora quite comfortably, but he wasn't hardly massively dominant. It was a competitive fight. True he was more dominant over Chisora than Whyte and Parker, but neither of them would stand much of chance vs AJ anyway.

I don't think we should be making too many claims about Usyk's ability at this level yet. But if his performance vs Chisora is any indication of the level he's able to produce now, then I don't think he'll worry AJ too much.

But time will tell. Usyk could win, but it's difficult to know. Usyk's fans should not be judging his chances of winning based on what he achieved at CW.

    Of course not.

But then Usyk gaining weight isn't going to magically have no effect on his own gas tank... Or speed.

It's not about being better in every way, it's about finding a workable compromise that allows him to see the final bell if necessary, whilst maintaining the power to potentially end it earlier than that.

FWIW I think AJ's team are playing this right - if he hadn't trimmed down a bit to mitigate his stamina deficit then he'd have gassed and struggled.

If he can keep most rounds competitive then he stands a very good chance on the cards - champions almost always get the benefit of the doubt over close rounds, cashcows even moreso... That's not to say that's how it should be, but it's how it is - to recognise that and work with it is a strategically correct move IMHO.

Not a bad plan, it will be a bit of a chess match to a point and I guess at times unpleasant on the eye.

AJ using his physical attributes is what you would expect - he will let Usyk know he is in with a bonafide heavyweight throughout.

I think I've stated it in other posts, it may be competitive at times but Joshua will win this one clearly.
