I was there, it was amazing. Anyone who didn't go, you missed out. The stadium and atmosphere was amazing. Anyways, even if he isn't ATG, he's still way better than your average fighter, and will go down as a deserved HOFer. He's been in some sensational fights, winner or loser, and has made big fights happen early in his career. He literally fought the best fighters he could.
He's been in two fifty-fifty bouts his entire career. One against the sloppy seconds of Fury, in which he went life and death with an old, inactive Klitschko in London. And then losing against Usyk by being outclassed, winning only two rounds. You post the biggest load of fanboy dross on this forum.
What you said didn't in any way refute the point you were responding to!! My point wasn't "AJ is the best", my point was he's made or tried to make the big fights happen. Win or Lose that's what's happened. Take the time to actually understand what you're responding to first. He's fought all the top dogs he could have fought, and the ones he couldn't weren't his own fault.
No sense to even trying with this haters. They are blind and biased, and discussion with them is just a waste of time.
He had two ring walks. One to the podium another to the ring with separate songs in each. I'm all for big fight glitz but he might want to tone it down a bit. I don't think he really enjoyed it either.
Usyk fans who didn't go missed out. Joshua fans who didn't go missed out, so long as they're the type who can accept a pyrotechnic entrance as a consolation prize. I'm being a *****, of course. Cynicism aside, there's nothing wrong with supporting your fighter through a losing effort. On the contrary. I haven't bought a ticket for a Matchroom event since Brook-Jones, if I remember right.
Pomp and pageantry is all part of the drama and sense of theater that made watching big TV boxing events exciting to us as kids. It's entirely possible to be invested in both the ceremony and entertainment spectacle of professional boxing and the nuts and bolts of the physical discipline.
These new ring walks are rubbish, all the stupid fireworks etc(started by Wlad in Germany) are pure nonsense. I just want to see a good fight between 2 men(women). I’m glad UFC hasn’t introduced these migraine inducing pre shows. Just get on with it!!! You don’t need stupid costumes etc, all you need is black shorts and a towel ala Mike Tyson.
