Personally think it would be totally different fight then Ali had ever been in before. If you tried the rope adope s##t with Mike then you would be tasting canvas pretty fast.. Ali had a better skill set no question but Tyson was good at eating big shots and walking his man down. Brutal once he closed the gap, totally different styles but both legends in there own right

 

For a single fight, I’d say they’d be 50/50. On a 3 fight series, I’d favour Ali to come out on top.

 

Ali was never TKod and fought some of the Heaviest Hitters we have seen in a Golden era....If a Prime George Foreman could not TKO a 32 year old Ali Tyson is certainly not doing it.......Ali takes Tyson to deep Water and drowns Him.!!!!

Lol No way, Too small at heavyweight, when the skill is on the same level, size give the edge. Prime ali (starts from the first Liston fight until his license was stripped.) was usually 210+~215. Prime Tyson(when he was with Kevin Rooney) was 210+~220, Similar weight. But massive difference in height .the much shorter Tyson was always easy to hold just ask james smith ,and smith is a bum compare to ali. when ali fought Frazier first time When Frazier was in his absolute prime yet a ringrust Ali who’s not nearly as athletic as the Ali in his prime and ali was fighting him he didn’t do much clinch Ali beat Frazier in the second fight convincingly and much easier when he did use much clinch . Besides Frazier had way way higher work rate than Tyson. some say stylistically crouching style or slick guys gives Ali trouble ,none sense. Ali beat liston and Patterson buster mathis easy, Norton gave ali trouble with his awkward style and Frazier gave ali trouble with his non stop pressure his extremely high work rate. It’s Tyson who had trouble with movers.
Tyson always had problems with bigger skilled fighters who knows how to use their size ,who had good uppercut and jabs,who was not intimidated. Because Tyson was a small heavyweight and could only fight one way 、Tyson’ work rate was always intermittent 、and Tyson was emotional. Those three weakness was kinda exposed by James tillis and tony tucker during his prime ,tillis Tyson was a extremely close fight some say tillis was robbed Tyson was little inexperienced and tillis was Second tier , tony tucker hurt his right hand before the fight so he didn’t push Tyson back much and tucker had no jab . It is Douglas who fully exposed Tyson’s weakness and took him out, Tyson was not at his best but still during his prime years, n Douglas was not a top level fighter.
Tyson’s power is not some kind of freakish power as some people make him out to be ,he hit pinklon Thomas who always like to put his chin in the air with loads of clean big punches in the first round and Thomas took them all in the first he didn’t push or hold on for dear life ,but when weaver caught him with one clean left hook Thomas couldn’t take it and immediately pushed weaver illegally; oliver McCall who sparred prime Tyson for years fought bruno Etc and he said that Bert cooper hit him the hardest by far in the sparring ,cooper also nearly took prime Holyfield out in the third round with a right hand ,Tyson hit Holyfield who was in his mid 30s knocked out by bowe previously ,had a hreat problem with clean combos but Holyfield was merely stunned. There is a difference between one good punch and a good deliver system , PLENTY of fighters hit extremely hard but most of them didn’t/don’t have the deliver system to always land their big punch clean..
And ali can fight different styles greatest fighters can fight different styles but Tyson can only fight one way and limited.
Also prime Tyson’s head movement is overrated, his best spots were against second tier fighters and journey mans, prime Tyson was even getting touched by the likes of Trevor berbick ,James tillis timed Tyson multiple times,tony tucked countered Tyson multiple times even with straight shots.
Ali vs Tyson in their prime this fantasy fight, it would be like better men’s version of Douglas Tyson. Simple as *.
to beat ali at his best it has to be some one like prime Holmes or Lewis at his best or Tyson fury at his best.

If Tyson could not stop Ali in the first 6 -7 rounds then the former would be in serious troubles in the late rounds. Holyfield used holding and hugging to frustrate Tyson and after Tyson was exhausted then Holyfield knocked out him in the late round. Ali could do this to Tyson too since he did it to Foreman in 1973.

 

Honestly, I'm starting to agree with Floyd Mayweather's view on Ali.
