It's ****ing obvious. People just like to give credit blindly without considering the condition of the opponent in the ring. Spence had one fight in 28 months.....that one fight was against Ugas 16 months ago who was very much a punchbag outside of almost knocking Spence out (and featherfisted Ugas has 32 fights, 12 KOs). Is inactivity now not just a thing that affects performance? Spence is a guy known to bloat up to 170-80, combine that inactivity with that car crash and boiling down to 147 is going to take it's toll. We saw him drained in the ring, people just can't admit it and ignore the facts staring them in the face. Add to that going on record straight after saying he's moving to 154lbs is pretty telling that he was struggling to make weight. Spence was going down from jabs, we saw that too in the Brook who fought Crawford as well, who also happened to look deathly drained in the weigh in. Also, no one has mentioned the fact Khan, Kavaliauskas, Part time commentator Shawn Porter all put up a better fight than Spence. It's either Spence was drained to **** or Spence has been terrible to begin. It's clear as day that the Spence we saw the other night was far removed from his best. All these ass-lickers and men worshippers see is the name and not the condition of the opponent. It would have been way more competitive years ago. I do think Crawford would likely beat Spence prime for prime, however, the fact he had to drain him to such an extent suggests he wasn't confident of doing so.
Ok, I believe Spence was a dead man before the fight. I'll give you that. Where was his defense? Where was a plan B? He literally kept doing the same predictable thing over and over until he got stopped. Let me remind you, Spence had trainer of the year in his corner and the only instructions given was, go to the body. He could have boxed him, don't over commit to the punches, feint more to get Crawford to commit and try countering. No way was Spence that far gone to were he couldn't ease up on his attack and try setting Crawford up.
I think Spence being drained is way overblown. Crawford simply prepared for a textbook fighter who has never shown a plan B. Styles make fights and Spence only has 1 style. Crawford on the other hand is excellent at not only formulating a game plan, but also adjusting mid fight. The adjustment was necessary because everyone knew exactly how Spence was going to fight from the opening bell.
I think you have a monopoly on that one my dude. Always trying to convince everyone Inoue is the best. You're good at it, but stay in your lane and stick to praising your boy. Real boxing fans are having a grown up conversation. Now go cuddle with you Inoue blow up doll and tell yourself everything is OK.
When haters of the winning fighter and/or fanboys of the losing fighter get this butthurt, it can only mean one thing: It was indeed a great, great performance.
Spence looked like crap because Crawford made him look like crap. Crawford had an answer for everything Spence had to offer.
It's funny how people have narratives for all outcomes. If Spence won, many would have called Spence no. 1 p4p and Bud a hype job. Take the fight for what it was, one guy dominated the other and became undisputed.
