AJ seemed humbled already, did he get ass whooped in sparring?

I don't know. He took Vlad's punches well. Sometimes some fighter's punches hurt a fighter with the angles and the way they punch more than other guys who hit harder. I could never understand it completely. It is like predicting fights. It is hard really. As much as we know about fighters, it is hard to predict a fight when both guys are near equal. There are too many variables. I do know this Joshua has everything to beat Ruiz. They are opposites. Ruiz is a fluid fast guy who is not in shape but can punch from an angle and get his punches in flurry wise and Joshua is a little like they say robotic like Vlad, where he jabs and punches standing up and doesn't mix up his punches much. Joshua in a rematch has to work on jabbing to the body and head and countering when he steps in and then grabbing him when he comes close and leaning on him. Let the ref break and do it again, and work that body if you can, which could be trouble on the inside with this fast kid. But eventually the body punches will come and this guy Ruiz will not be able to take it. Ruiz is not a long term champion. I don't care how hyped people will make him now.

If he's not upset, then he should quit boxing. I think he is though. And that's ok.

The work that Ruiz did on the inside, his fast hands punching to the body, counter punching and then going upstairs with the right and left reminded me so much of a young Tyson.

AJ had no answers to Ruiz speed. Don't see what he can do to get a chin transplant. Ruiz is going to come into the rematch twice the fighter

I know its impossible that this doesn't come off disrespectful, but I assure you I dont mean it in that way.

I have just usually found the 'oh well... I lost. Meh' mentality to often be the mental framework of losers and quitters. Obviously not all the time... but just stating my experience.

I think youd find that most champion level fighters dont take their first losses very well.

Many fighters break down and cry in their first loss. I think saying that emotion ia money driven is somewhat disrespectful to their competitiveness, drive, pride and passion.

with that size difference and speed Joshua can win. Remember Hearns had speed just like Ray, but Ray had better inside speed in his combinations, and still Hearns could off set that with his jab and jabbing to the head and body and using the jab. Joshua has to get someone to teach him styles to fight. Emanuel Steward could have helped him because he was the greatest at this. ..

Not an insult but at that level with Hearns or Leonard, they want the big money. It does matter to them. It is the whole package. Hearns on his first loss he cried and so did Emanuel, but in his second and third losses Hearns was not as emotional. I think he came to the conclusion that this is boxing and you get back and you improve.

Wlad had more power, better jab, better left hook, better straight right and better footwork.

AJ is worth 70 plus million bucks
He still has a few big paydays
He knows he’s going to be just fine

Well people do get used to losing.

Let me ask you this then.

Take a sprinter in the olympics, they come up just short of medaling, and they are caught on camera crying or begin to get emotional during an interview.

You think that immediately originates and springs from them losing out on money? You think that that is their initial reaction to that loss that sparks thise tears? I just dont buy it. Yes Im sure thats in there somewhere and hits them. I dont see that as being what brings them to tears.

I also find that pretty at odds with any of my personal sporting experiences. Ive seen many young men cry over losing in competitions with little to no money involved.

You think when Charlo started crying at the press conference his last fight... talking about how he hates to lose... that in reality he was actually thinking about money?

Nah. Im sure some more seasoned vets are thinking more that way after theyve already lost their 0s and have experienced losing a couple times, or have grown tires of the sport and view it differently now, but I dont think thats the general case nor applies to younger fighters taking their first L.

I think he laid off the juice for his US debut. He didn't look as blown up as usual.

Probably because grown men with pride don't want to get their butts whipped on national TV. If you are fine with getting beat up then maybe you should look at your self in the mirror then.

He's not Buddha FFS, he was suffering from concussion and couldn't wait to get out of there. I guarantee he won't be Mr Cheery in the morning.

Was probably just dazed and concussed. He got beat up bad against that fat blob. Hopefully he'll be able to rebound from this.

LOL! Fun down at the rec center!:D:D
The funny thing is the rec center has tons of average guys who look much better than Ruiz. Ruiz can fight but he truly is an obsee man. In the history of boxing has any champion had a 45 in waist?
